    Abstract: Domain-specific initial high-speed memory configuration policies are created by analyzing workloads of storage systems deployed in each of a plurality of customer domains. Each domain-specific initial high-speed memory configuration policy specifies the size of both a mirrored policy region and a non-mirrored policy region. The sizes of the mirrored and non-mirrored policy regions are based on the respective proportion of read IO and write IO operations in the analyzed workloads of each customer domain. Each domain-specific initial high-speed memory configuration policy also specifies a distribution of slot sizes that should be created in each of the policy regions, based on read IO and write IO histograms created from the analyzed workloads in each customer domain. When a new storage system is deployed, the customer domain where the new storage system will be used is determined, and the high-speed memory configuration policy for the domain is applied to the storage system.

    Abstract: A storage device for data encryption and self-destruction includes a controller, an interface module, a storage module, an encryption and authentication module, a positioning module, a power supply module, and a communication and self-destruction module. The interface module, the storage module, the encryption and authentication module, the positioning module and the communication and self-destruction module are electrically connected to the controller, respectively. The encryption and authentication module is configured to encrypt and protect data stored in the storage module, and authenticate a request for remote access to the storage device. The communication and self-destruction module is configured to send position information acquired by the positioning module to a storage device management system, receive and execute a data destruction instruction issued by the storage device management system, and destruct the data stored in the storage module. The power supply module is configured to provide electrical energy for the storage device.

    Abstract: A portable terminal device in an information processing system and method includes a camera and a microphone. Data of obtained images and voice are transmitted to a server that identifies operations to be executed based on the received voice and image data. The server transmits an identification of one or more results of the plurality of operations to the portable terminal device. When the portable terminal device receives only one result from the server, an operation corresponding to the one result is executed, and when a plurality of results is received, the portable terminal device displays information corresponding to the plurality of results as candidates. Additional voice is captured for selecting one of the plurality of results during the displaying of the information. A determination of one result from the plurality of results is made based on the captured voice, and an operation corresponding to the determined result is executed.
