Abstract: A method of touchless activation of an electrically activated device may comprise: receiving, via a processor and through a sensor in an aircraft cabin, gesture data; comparing, via the processor, the gesture data to a predetermined gesture, the predetermined gesture being created by transitioning a hand from a first position to a second position, one of the first position and the second position being a closed fist, a remainder of the first position and the second position being an open palm; determining, via the processor, whether the gesture data matches the predetermined gesture; and commanding, via the processor, the electrically activated device to change from a first state to a second state.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention relates to an electronic device for reproducing, in time sequence, first pen data in which handwriting strokes are digitized on a medium by an electronic pen. The electronic device comprises: a communication module; a control module; an output module for reproducing or outputting first handwriting information, first image or audio information photographed or recorded by the electronic device, and event information in time sequence; and a memory module for storing contents including the first handwriting information, the first image or audio information, and the event information, wherein, when the communication module further receives second pen data in a state where the first handwriting information is held on the output module after the contents are stored in the memory module, second handwriting information corresponding to the second pen data is added to the first handwriting information and then reproduced.

Abstract: One or more computing devices may comprise congestion management circuitry, one or more client file system request buffers, and DESS interface circuitry. The one or more client file system request buffers is/are operable to queue first client file system requests of a first priority level and second client file system requests of a second priority level, where the first priority level is higher priority than the second priority level. The DESS interface circuitry is operable to determine a choking level according to the load on a plurality of DESS resources. Individual load values of the DESS resources are mapped to a composite load value using a first function. The composite load value is mapped to a congestion contribution using a second function. And, the congestion contribution is mapped to a choking level using a third function.

Abstract: Domain-specific initial high-speed memory configuration policies are created by analyzing workloads of storage systems deployed in each of a plurality of customer domains. Each domain-specific initial high-speed memory configuration policy specifies the size of both a mirrored policy region and a non-mirrored policy region. The sizes of the mirrored and non-mirrored policy regions are based on the respective proportion of read IO and write IO operations in the analyzed workloads of each customer domain. Each domain-specific initial high-speed memory configuration policy also specifies a distribution of slot sizes that should be created in each of the policy regions, based on read IO and write IO histograms created from the analyzed workloads in each customer domain. When a new storage system is deployed, the customer domain where the new storage system will be used is determined, and the high-speed memory configuration policy for the domain is applied to the storage system.

Abstract: A desktop computing system having at least a central core surrounded by housing having a shape that defines a volume in which the central core resides is described. The housing includes a first opening and a second opening axially displaced from the first opening. The first opening having a size and shape in accordance with an amount of airflow used as a heat transfer medium for cooling internal components, the second opening defined by a lip that engages a portion of the airflow in such a way that at least some of the heat transferred to the air flow from the internal components is passed to the housing.

Abstract: A storage device for data encryption and self-destruction includes a controller, an interface module, a storage module, an encryption and authentication module, a positioning module, a power supply module, and a communication and self-destruction module. Abstract: A portable terminal device in an information processing system and method includes a camera and a microphone. Data of obtained images and voice are transmitted to a server that identifies operations to be executed based on the received voice and image data. The server transmits an identification of one or more results of the plurality of operations to the portable terminal device. When the portable terminal device receives only one result from the server, an operation corresponding to the one result is executed, and when a plurality of results is received, the portable terminal device displays information corresponding to the plurality of results as candidates. Additional voice is captured for selecting one of the plurality of results during the displaying of the information. A determination of one result from the plurality of results is made based on the captured voice, and an operation corresponding to the determined result is executed.

Abstract: A design analysis engine analyzes a CAD assembly to generate a topological model. The topological model is a graph of nodes coupled together via a set of edges. Each node represents a different CAD model in the CAD assembly and each edge represents a different connection between two such CAD models. The design analysis engine also analyzes the CAD assembly to generate a data model corresponding to the topological model. The data model is a structured dataset that includes component entries and connection entries. A component entry includes design data associated with a CAD model in the CAD assembly and a connection entry includes design data associated with a physical or logical connection between two or more such CAD models. A user interacts with the topological model to navigate the CAD assembly, obtain CAD model data, and initiate automatically-performed design tasks.
