    摘要: A gate latch structure with a striker bar is mounted on a fence gate hinge mounted to the fence. A gate handle is provided that has a striker bar enclosing loop reinforcing the mounting of the striker bar on the gate. The latch structure also includes a pivotal latch member pivotally mounted on a latch mounting back plate that is mountable on a fence post or the middle end of the other half of a double gate. The striker bar receiving opening in the pivotal latch member has a rear edge recessed back from the rear end of the striker bar receiving opening in the latch mounting back plate. With this structure the back plate absorbs striker bar closing impact directly rather than such impact being imposed on the pivotal latch member and on the pivot screw mounting the pivotal latch member.

    摘要: A latch mechanism having easily removed components for cleaning. The apparatus is comprised of a strike and latch member which are releasably engagable. The latch is rotatably mounted and spring biased toward the strike. The spring biasing element is wedged between the rocker plate member and the edge surface of the door. A pivot pin upon which the rocker plate member is rotatably mounted is slideably removeable therefrom. Thus, the pivot pin, rocker plate member, and spring biasing element can be removed and placed so that all surfaces of the permanently affixed elements of the latch mechanism are completely exposed for cleaning, and such that the removable elements can be emersed and sanitized.

The device includes a first member which is adapted to be connected to the pivoting door of a medicine cabinet and a second member which is adapted to be connected to a side wall of the medicine cabinet receptacle portion itself. The member attached to the medicine cabinet receptacle wall includes a latching mechanism actuated with a pivoting movement to enable the latching and unlatching of the first mentioned member and thereby the locking and unlocking of the door of the medicine cabinet. The inventive locking mechanism may easily be utilized in other applications where it is desired to selectively lock a door.

    摘要: A reversible latching hinge for the roof of a container such as a railway car which is adapted to be inverted to a discharging position. The latching hinge allows the roof to pivot away automatically from the opening of the container during inversion. The reversible latching hinge is designed so as to minimize or eliminate undesirable impact loading that may arise from lateral displacement of the roof during inversion. The construction includes flanges extending laterally outward from the roof and terminating in ears which extend toward latch bars mounted to the container. Contact between the ears and the latch bars forms a pivot point for the roof. The construction also includes freely pivoting hooks which, on the upper side of the roof engage the latch bars to prevent the roof from falling off of the container. The hooks on the lower side disengage from the latch bars by gravity to permit the roof to swing outwardly during inversion.

    摘要: The drive device for a locking mechanism of a motor vehicle door lock which can be fastened by means of a central locking installation comprises an operating element which is guided on a housing for linear displacement between a fastening position and an unfastening position and is coupled with the fastening mechanism. A motor drives the operating element in both directions of displacement. A locking lever mounted on the housing for pivoting about a spindle extending transversely of the direction of displacement of the operating element in its locking position blocks the operating element when it is situated in the fastening position. Thus the fastening mechanism in the locked condition cannot be unfastened manually. The locking lever is pivoted by a rotating drive through an eccentric. The eccentric engages in an aperture of the locking lever. The aperture permits a pivoting movement of the eccentric of more than 180.degree., while a stop face of the aperture limits the range of rotation of the eccentric. The end positions of the eccentric are situated, both in the locking position and in the unlocking position of the locking lever in a "beyond-dead-point-position", so that the locking device holds the locking lever in self-locking manner.

    摘要: A one-piece, slam-type latch for snap-in installation in an orifice of a door is provided for maintaining the door in a closed position relative to a door frame having an extending keeper means. The latch includes a first portion having a generally rectangular configuration, and a second portion extending normally outward from the first portion for insertion through the orifice. One end of the second portion is in integral attachment with one side of the first portion. The other end of the second portion is provided with at least one indentation for interlocking engagement with the keeper means. A leaf spring is integrally attached to the second portion and extends angularly from the second portion toward the first portion. The latch is further provided with a third portion in integral engagement with the first and second portions. The third portion extends planarly outward from the first portion. The third portion has an auriculate recess provided with a first lobe extending inwardly toward the first portion and a second lobe extending planarly opposite the first lobe to define a thin-walled section of the third portion. The thin-walled section of the third portion is sufficiently pliable so that the third portion may be deformed.

    摘要: A latch mechanism for use in a street and roadway lighting luminaire. The latch mechanism operates generally in the same fashion as prior latch mechanisms to release the engagement between the upper and lower housings responsive to manual actuation of a pawl of the latch mechanism against the bias of a torsion spring. The present mechanism may be readily detached and replaced without the need for elaborate spring depressors. Two torsion springs are employed, one fitted to each side of the latch pawl to hold and bias the pawl. The springs can be released individually to enable removal of the pawl. On replacement, the pawl is slipped into the cast-in nesting arrangement with the two springs loosely fitted on the pawl. The springs are then depressed to their pawl-biasing condition to mount and affix the pawl to the lower housing. In this manner, the pawl can be replaced, if desired, without the need for tools of any kind, especially since the mounting of the latch in its housing is performed without screws or bolts.
