摘要： Disclosed herein is a refrigerator having an ice-making unit wherein the coupling structure of a cover to open and close an ice-making compartment is improved such that a user can easily attach and detach the cover to and from the ice-making compartment. The refrigerator includes a refrigerator body having a refrigerating compartment and a freezing compartment defined therein, an ice-making compartment mounted at one side of the refrigerating compartment, the ice-making compartment having an opening formed at the front thereof, an ice-making compartment cover to open and close the opening of the ice-making compartment, a rotary lever mounted at the ice-making compartment cover, latching hooks rotatable along with the rotation of the rotary lever, and latching projections formed in a side wall of the ice-making compartment such that the latching hooks are coupled with the latching projections.

摘要： An insulated icemaking compartment is provided in the fresh food compartment of a bottom mount refrigerator. The icemaking compartment may be integrally formed with the liner of the fresh food compartment, or alternatively, may be modular for installation anywhere in the fresh food compartment. A removable bin assembly with a front cover normally seals the icemaking compartment to maintain the temperature in the compartment. A cold air duct formed in the rear wall of the refrigerator supplies cold air from the freezer compartment to the icemaking compartment. A return air duct directs a portion of the air from the icemaking compartment back to the freezer compartment. An air vent with a damper in the icemaking compartment directs another portion of air into the fresh focm 8od compartment. A control system provides for controlling refrigerator functions in a manner that promotes energy efficiency, including movement of the damper between open and closed positions. An improved latch and seal are provided for the ice bin assembly to allow removal of the bin assembly and to ensure a positive seal between the bin assembly and the front cover of the ice compartment.

The door apparatus includes a door with a thermally isolating layer, and a frame that moves simultaneously with the door and which provides a storage space for accommodating stored goods. The door is rotatably coupled to a front end of the frame, thus allowing the door to rotate through a predetermined angle with respect to the frame. An amount of rotation of the door with respect to the frame may be selectively limited to utilize a tilting function of the door and to provide access to goods in the storage space.

摘要： A magnetic safety closure for a protection device that is movable with respect to a fixed part includes a housing that is attachable to the protection device and includes a handle for opening and closing the protection device. The housing includes a sensor housing that is attachable to the fixed part and provided with a sensor for determining whether the protection device is closed or open. The housing attachable to the protection device has an initiating device for the sensor and is opposite the sensor when the protection device is closed. The housing and the sensor housing share a magnet arrangement having at least one holding magnet and an associated pole plate. The handle is a two armed lever pivotably mounted on the housing, with arm of the lever facing the sensor housing with its free end disconnecting the holding magnet from its associated pole plate when the handle is pivoted out in order to open the protection device.

For example, a generally “U” or “V” shaped door lock can be adapted, when in a generally inverted orientation, to be slidably and removably received within channels or recesses formed by closely adjacent elongated handles of respective side-by-side doors. In some embodiments, the door lock apparatus can include, among other things, spaced legs depending from an upper support.

Each hinge piece has a base portion for allowing securement of the hinge piece to the walled enclosure and an integral portion spaced from the base portion for journalling a respective end of the shaft structure for rotation about its axis whereby allowing the bar lock mechanism to move relative to the walled enclosure.

The nut shaped receiving area preferably covers the platform during rotation of the handle relative to the base. The head portion may also include a lock having a locking barrier connected to a locking cylinder. The locking barrier is also adapted for removable positioning within the circular working channel to prevent rotation between the rotational limiter and the stop thereby restricting rotation of the handle and shaft relative to the base. The shaft further includes a latch member designed to engage a latch receiver integral to a door frame used for latching of a door in a closed position.

摘要： A locking handle for a refrigerator includes a mounting element rigidly secured to a refrigerator door, a hand grip rigidly secured to the mounting element, and a latch attached to the mounting element. The latch has a catch movable between a locked position and an unlocked position and an actuator operably connected to the catch for moving the catch from the locked position to the unlocked position. The latch provides a positive lock which is actuated to an unlocked position with a manipulation separate from pulling the hand grip but has an actuator located near the hand grip so that it can be manipulated by a hand grasping and pulling the hand grip. In a first embodiment, the catch is integrally molded with the mounting portion and is laterally deflectable away from a retainer mounted beside the door. In a second embodiment the catch is a vertically extending spindle which is downwardly movable away from a retainer mounted above the door.

摘要： A safety latching device for refrigerators of the type having at least one vertically-hinged door extending the entire length of the refrigerator. The safety latching device includes an elongated support base having a latching bar rotatably attached thereto secured to the top of the refrigerator, and a coupling plate having a slot therein secured to the top of the refrigerator door in alignment with the latching bar. To prevent the refrigerator door from being opened by a young child, the latching bar is positioned in the coupling plate slot. To allow access to the refrigerator by an adult, the latching bar is rotatably moved from the slot. For refrigerators having more than one vertically-hinged door, the safety latching device utilizes a pair of latching bars with a pair of corresponding coupling plates.
