The proximal end of the rack is connected to the locking mechanism while the distal end of the rack is affixed to a slide bolt. The latch also includes a cam and a gear, the cam positioned on the gear and the gear enmeshed with the rack so that rotating the gear operates the slide bolt which prevents the window from tilting.

摘要： A rotary latch closure comprising a housing with an actuating shaft which is mounted so as to be rotatable, but axially fixed therein. The rotary latch closure has, at its free end, a circumferential thread, at least one axially oriented flattened portion, and a rotary latch configured to be fitted to the free end of the shaft so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative to it in at least one rotational position and which is axially supported on a nut which can be screwed onto the circumferential thread. The nut is enclosed by a cage forming a laterally accessible space that is bounded by two walls, each of the two walls having a prismatic opening, wherein the opening allows the shaft to be slid through in a torsionally rigid manner.

Latching system 250 is located substantially near the bottom of door 220 so that it may be operated by means of a person's foot. Receiving device 265 is affixed to door frame member 205. Receiving device 265 is configured to receive latching device 255 when latching device 255 is rotated towards receiving device 265.

摘要： A lock for a cabinet of the type wherein a door of the cabinet is movable through a frame of the cabinet is provided. An exemplary lock of the present invention includes a first and second restraining member connected by a rod and rotatable around an axis of rotation between a first position wherein a cabinet member is trapped between the restraining members and the door can not move through the frame and a second position wherein the door is freely movable through the frame. The lock optionally includes a mounting member having a rod-retaining section and optionally one or more rotation locks and/or one or more rotation restraints. The restraining members are optionally sized and shaped to facilitate rotation between the first and second position while accommodating different sizes and specifications of cabinet types. The lock optionally includes one or more strengthening members and end extensions angled on one or both ends of the rod. In additional embodiments of the present invention, the lock includes at least one friction pad for contacting a cabinet member and an adjustable connection between the rod and at least one restraining member.

摘要： A rotatable knob mounted at one side of an opening to a container has formed on the underside thereof a recess and a channel extending therefrom through the periphery of the knob. Opposite the knob on the other side of the container opening is secured a clasp. When the knob is rotated into its open position with the catch channel directed toward the catch, closure of the opposite sides of the container opening moves the catch through the catch channel to the recess on the underside of the knob. Thereafter, rotation of the knob in either direction out of its open position, captures the catch in the recess on the underside of the knob. Release of the catch is accomplished by rotating the knob back to its open position. In an alternative embodiment, the catch channel terminates short of the periphery of the knob, but a portion of the knob extends beyond the edge of the container opening. In the opening position of the knob with the catch channel oriented toward the catch, the catch channel also extends beyond the edge of the container opening. The catch is received in this overhanging portion of the catch channel to enter the recess on the underside of the knob by pivoting with its respective portion of the container about a point remote from the catch and knob.

摘要： This invention relates to a rotary type latch for sliding screen doors wherein the rotary member is molded from a plastic material such as a polycarbonate and which is rotatable in either direction for universal application to either right hand or left hand door operations. The rotary latch engages a slot in a door pull molded from a similar plastic material and contacts the screen door frame through the slot to cam the door against a retaining channel mounted on a door frame. The rotary latch includes a plurality of flat cam faces affording multiple locking positions and which necessitate positive lock rotation to enable the latch to be disengaged. This latch mechanism is of particular usefulness for application to sliding patio screen doors where the screen door closes into a pocket within the side jamb of the patio door frame.
