    摘要: A motion activated decorative lantern having an optical lens which becomes part of the lantern structure and appearance so that there is no profile difference due to the presence of the motion sensor. The detection range area may be adjusted without the details of the adjustment being visible. A rotatable sensing module has an integral appearance with that of the fixture. The decorative lantern has a decorative lamp portion and a mounting portion, a cylindrical sensing module having a chamber; a motion sensor located in the chamber for detecting motion in a selected location around the lantern; and a lens piece positioned around the sensing module and over the chamber. The lens piece has a uniform decorative appearance. The sensing module is rotatable to change the selected location of detection of the lantern. The lantern also includes a decorative external housing, decorative tail below the sensing module and a decorative lantern base. An internal housing for housing electronic components of the lantern is positioned within the external housing above a chamber in which the motion sensor is located.

    摘要: A dusk delay system for outdoor motion detection provides the benefits of dusk to dawn, timed, and motion detection control. A dusk to dawn type sensor detects the onset of darkness and turns on the lights for a predetermined duration of time. Once the duration of time expires, the lights will be shut off. Subsequently, motion within the monitored area will be detected by a motion detector and cause the light to be turned on for a selectably predetermined amount of time. The timer can randomize the actual time in which the lighting controller shuts off the light and goes into the motion detection mode. A latch mechanism disables the operation of the system upon momentary interruption of the power.

    摘要: An infrared intrusion detector uses infrared-sensitive sensors with pyroelectric sensor elements for detecting infrared radiation from a spatial region to be monitored. Infrared radiation passes through an entrance window and reaches the sensor elements via focusing mirrors. Extraneous radiation, outside the useful radiation band, is eliminated by filtering at the entrance window and by an optical transmission filter, and by scattering at suitable rough surfaces of the focusing mirrors. As a result, the infrared intrusion detector is less sensitive to extraneous radiation and less likely to produce false alarms.

    摘要: A battery-powered infrared sensor security system capable of operating on a single set of batteries for a minimum of one year. The system is connected to a telephone line and employs a bidirectional dual-tone multiple frequency (DTMF) tone generator/receiver to allow communication to and from a remote location. The system status may be checked from the remote location and certain system parameters may be varied from the remote location. The system uses a Fresnel lens arrangement and a pair of infrared sensors to provide a substantially uniform field of coverage of 180.degree.. The system also uses real time digital analysis of the output signals from the infrared sensors. The digital analysis uses time sequence analysis of the output signals, performs variance measurements between the current measurement of the infrared sensor signals and the stored time sequence, coherence measurements between the two sensors, and can compare measured amplitude spectra to predefined signature spectra entered by the user.
