Abstract: When a bit reception plate is moved to an upper-end bit tip portion of a hole punch bit, a paper-stacking base supported by parallel link mechanisms by using a pressure force of the bit reception plate descends while maintaining a horizontal and parallel state. While paper (not shown) placed on the paper-stacking base is being intensively held by the bit reception plate and the paper-stacking base, the paper is abutted in a straight state with respect to an upper-end bit tip portion of the hole punch bit, whereby a desired number of holes can be punched into the paper. Excellent punch function, and smooth and stable discharge function of punched paper scraps with simple and inexpensive structure are secured.

Abstract: A punching device for punching an aperture in a sheet includes a housing and a handle pivotally joined to the housing with a first pivot connection. A drive plate is slidably displaceable in the housing. The drive plate includes a protrusion extending from a surface. Abstract: A tag punch system for punching symbols into livestock identification tags or other target materials comprises a handle system, a pressure positioning system located on a first handle of the handle system, and a punching system located on a second handle of the handle system. The punching system has one or more stencil chains, having a plurality of user-selectable stencils. Abstract: The present invention is an ergonomic paper punch, which includes a die body, a press body, and a plurality of punch heads. The die body and the press body are pivotally connected along an axis for a rocking motion, with the die body and press body forming a "V" shape when viewed in a cross-section perpendicular to the axis. The die body has a die base with a plurality of die holes, an equal number of brackets with guide holes, and a paper reception region in between the base and brackets. A portion of the upper surface of the press body is covered by a resilient, textured surface. The underside of the die base has a region for holding the punch-outs that is covered by a resilient tray. The tray is secured to the top surface of the die base, extends around the die base, and covers the punch-out holding region. The tray is completely detachable from the punch-out holding region so the region can be emptied, but remains attached to the die base so as to not get lost. The tray contains a closable aperture that can also be used to empty the punch-out holding region. The center section of the lower rear edge of the tray is curved, rather than squared off.

Abstract: An improved sheet metal punch including a second class lever system compounded with a hybrid first-third class lever system. A nutcracker-like tool employs two lever arms that are linked at the ends thereof by a fulcrum link and opposing fulcrum points, one on each of the lever arms, to actuate a hybrid first-third class lever system to drive a floating punch into a guide-stripper plate and die matrix assembly that are rigidly fixed to one of the levers. Abstract: A multi-hole punch and ruler combination which is especially adapted for storage in and use with a multi-ring binder. The ruler provides a receptacle for receiving the punched out paper chips, as well as a plurality of retention tabs and support tabs for securing the punch in the receptacle in a press fit engagement which may be readily released by the user when desired. The punch comprises relatively low profile upper and lower portions, the lower portion having a defined paper receiving area with front and side edge borders for accurately aligning the edge of the paper relative to the punch members. The lower portion also provides a plurality of cantilevered fingers for receiving the paper edge adjacent the punch holes through which punch members on the upper portion of the punch can protrude and cut or punch holes in the paper sheets received by the punch of the invention. These fingers hold the edge of the paper sheet to separate the sheet from the punch members after the sheet has been punched. The upper and lower portions of the punch are hinged in a press fit relation. The ruler has two conventional straight edge scales, one on each side or edge of the punch. One such scale provides a plurality of loose leaf ring holes so that the combined punch and ruler can be supported on the rings of a multi-ring binder.

Abstract: A hand-held, manually operated book index notch cutter is placed in the book to be notched. The notch cutter has a cylindrical cutting member (405) which moves parallel to and rotates around its axis. The axis of the cylinder is perpendicular to the book leaves being notched. The cutting member rotates and advances within a cutter guide (200), which is attached to a thin baseplate (100). The upper surface of the baseplate is a resilient platen (102) on which rests the stack of book leaves to be cut. These leaves are adjusted in fan and lateral angle with the help of a leaf guide (300), which is movable to allow a range of notch depths. The cutting member is attached to a knob (401) which is pressed and turned. Inside this cutting member-knob assembly is a spring-loaded ejector assembly (500). After a notch is cut, the ejector button (501) is pressed, capturing the paper cuttings and raising the cutting member to the ready position. Then the entire index notch cutter is removed from the book and placed over a wastebasket, and the ejector button is released, causing the paper cuttings to fall.

Abstract: A pair of guide bores in an electric punch support a pair of punching blocks aligned with, and movable into, respective punching holes in a main frame. Two operation arms are pivoted on respective holders and each is connected to one punching block to impart vertical motion thereto. Each operation arm includes a longitudinal guide groove therein. A pair of operation pins are driven in circular paths within the guide grooves to reciprocate the operation arms about their pivots. In the quiescent condition, the one of the guide pins lies at the end of its guide groove, whereas the other guide pin lies about in the middle of its guide groove. A guide concavity at the end of the guide grooves accepts its respective operation pin, whereby the associated operation arm rests at a different rotational position than it would if the guide concavity were omitted. A spring provides a restoring force on the punching block associated with the guide concavity. The guide grooves and holders may be positioned at selectable spacings. A reversing switch permits reversing the direction of the circular paths to clear jams.
