摘要: A device (110) and a method for locally repairing or reinforcing an elongate body (100), said device (110) being intended for winding one or a plurality of layers of pre-impregnated polymerizable strip around the elongate body (100), said device (110) comprising:—releasable means (112, 113) of attachment around the elongate body (100),—means for the rotational movement of support structure (125) around the means (112, 113) of attachment,—means for the longitudinal movement of a spool (135) of a pre-impregnated polymerizable strip relative to the support structure (125), said support (125) comprising means for limiting the movement of the spool to a predetermined path, said spool (135) being unwindable when it is subjected to a given tension,—means for bringing the spool (135) into rotational and translational movement around the elongate body (100), causing the pre-impregnated polymerizable strip to be wound around said body.

摘要: A composite system for reinforcing a section of a curved metallic structure configured to contain fluids comprises a fabric carrier configured to be saturated with a uniformly dispersed reactive precursor. The reactive precursor chemically configured to activate and harden after removal of the reactive precursor from a protective packaging. The reactive precursor includes a radiopaque substance within a range of about 3 percent to about 50 percent by weight of the reactive precursor. The fabric carrier is adapted to be applied in overlapping layers to a surface of a curved metallic structure.

摘要: A protective seal, a protective seal kit, and a method for sealing a joint region between pipes are provided. The protective seal includes a first wrap, comprising a corrosion-resistant material, wrapped around a seal region, contacting the outer surface of the pipeline assembly. A second wrap, comprising a self-adhering fiberglass composite, wraps around the first wrap. The kit includes a flexible wrap fabricated, in part, from a corrosion-resistant material, and a second flexible wrap fabricated, in part, from a fiberglass cloth impregnated with a resinous pliable-plastic material. The method includes wrapping a corrosion-resistant, inner wrap around first and second pipes such that this wrap surrounds the joint region and adheres to the pipes. A fiberglass-composite outer wrap is wrapped around the inner wrap and the first and second pipes such that the outer wrap surrounds the inner wrap and adheres to the pipes. The outer wrap is cured.
