    摘要: This invention relates to allergenic proteins of natural rubber latex in substantially purified form, their production and their use, together with monoclonal antibodies developed against those allergenic proteins, in assays for the qualitative and quantitative determination of the levels of the allergenic proteins in natural rubber latex or in products made from latex. Assays for identifying and/or quantitating antibodies in blood or blood products that mediate the occurrence of an allergic reaction induced by natural rubber latex are also provided, together with in vivo and in vitro diagnostic tests for detecting hypersensitivity to natural rubber latex and which involve use of the aforesaid allergenic proteins. The invention also provides for the use of the aforesaid allergens as de-sensitizing agents in the treatment of latex protein allergy. There is still further provided a method for removing allergenic proteins from latex products.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for removing impurities from an elastomer intended for medical or pharmaceutical use, which includes a step of performing a first solvent extraction process on the elastomer by contacting the elastomer with a first extracting solvent in a non-supercritical state to substantially remove impurities from the elastomer, thereby leaving a residue of said first extracting solvent in the elastomer. The elastomer is there after subjected to a second solvent extraction process, by contacting the elastomer with a second extracting solvent, which is a supercritical fluid or a mixture of super critical fluids, in order to remove substantially reduce the concentration of the residue of the first extracting solvent remaining in the elastomer after the first solvent extraction process.

    摘要: A process for preparing a chloroprene-based liquid polymer having active terminal groups substantially at the terminals thereof comprising polymerizing chloroprene alone or in combination with one or more monomers copolymerizable with chloroprene in (1) an organic solvent having a boiling point of about 160.degree. C or less at atmospheric pressure and selected from the group consisting of aromatic hydrocarbons, aliphatic halogenated hydrocarbons and cyclic ethers, or (2) in carbon disulfide, which is present in an amount of about 20 to 200 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the total monomer, in the presence of a xanthogen disulfide compound represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R can contain from 1 to 12 carbon atoms and is an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group or a cycloaliphatic group, which is present in an amount substantially equal to a ratio of about 2.5 to 20 parts by weight of diethyl xanthogen disulfide per 100 parts by weight of the total monomer. The chloroprene-based liquid polymer is purified by contacting the polymer or the polymer containing solution with an alcohol represented by the formula:R.sub.1 OHwherein R.sub.1 is an alkyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms, to remove any unreacted xanthogen disulfide compound.
