摘要: A method for treatment of organic-based material comprising contacting the organic-based material with solid waste material from the treatment of cooking oils. The treatment may comprise a clean-up of said organic-based materials, particularly clean up of an oil spill on a body of water. The solid waste material may be applied directly to the oil or it may be placed in bags prior to placing it on an oil spill. The solid waste material from the treatment of cooking oils is the solid waste product used in the treatment of cooking oils and cooking fats for the purpose of removing undesirable compounds that affect flavor, color and odor therefrom. The solid waste material from the treatment of cooking oils typically comprise particulate material, such as acid-activated clays, that are loaded with adsorbed compounds and contain residual oils from the treatment process.

摘要: A process for producing biodiesel has been invented by first extracting lipids from the sludges generated during primary and/or biological treatment of municipal, agricultural, and industrial wastewaters using primary, secondary, and tertiary treatments followed by the transesterification of the extracted lipids using transesterification conversion into alcohol-based esters. The resulting products from this process include biodiesel, glycerol, lipid-free proteins, various other useful chemicals and an aqueous-based substrate well suited for optimized digestion within subsequent biological digestion (either aerobic or anaerobic). The lipids extracted from the sludges containing high levels of microorganisms are phospholipids which can also be directly used as lecithin. The extraction of the lipids from the sludges will be performed using chemical extraction techniques with the transesterification of the extracted lipids accomplished using basic, acidic, and/or a combination of the two transesterification techniques.

摘要: A process is described for dewatering a water-containing material by mixing sphagnum plants into the material as a structural element, and that the mixture thereafter is subjected to a drying process. By mixing sphagnum plant into to such water-containing materials, and thereafter by dewatering the material, traditional processing methods such as composting and incineration of such materials will be much improved.

摘要: The invention concerns the use of a coagulation-flocculation-decantation device for water treatment to degrease water inside the device itself so as to eliminate therefrom more than 20% of hexane-extractable matter without resorting to separate degreasing means by flotation. The invention also concerns a plant comprising a coagulation-flocculation-decantation device by ballasted flocs having a coagulation zone (1), means supplying (4) a granular material denser than water (4), a flocculation zone (6), a decantation zone (8) and means for recycling (15) granular material including at least a hydrocyclone (17). The invention is characterised in that it does nut comprise degreasing means provided upstream of the coagulation-flocculation-decantation device, the grease being removed from the water inside the coagulation-flocculation-decantation device itself without means for injecting air or an equivalent gas.

摘要: Disclosed is a method of disinfecting and stabilizing organic wastes wherein organic waste is intimately mixed with one or more mineral by-products to produce a mixture having a pH of less than about 9. The mixture is heated and dried to produce a stable, granular bio-mineral product that may be used for example, as a fertilizer, soil amendment or as a soil substitute. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the heat for heating and/or drying the mixture is provided by residual heat in at least one of the one or more mineral by-products. Also provided are stable, granular bio-mineral products formed by the methods of the present invention and fertilizers, soil amendments, and soil substitutes that include these stable, granular bio-mineral products. Further provided are systems for disinfecting and stabilizing organic waste, and systems for making a stable, granular bio-mineral product.

摘要: The invention is relative to a device for dehydrating sludge such as occurs in sewage treatment plants in the form of dilute sludge. The receptacle for the sludge contains a sieve surface comprising openings for the passage of liquid. The sieve surface, for its part, is substantially circular can be rotated about an axis (21) running vertically to the sieve surface. The axis (21) of the sieve surface (2) is inclined relative to a horizontal line and is caused to rotate by a drive device (3). The disk-shaped sieve surface (2) is arranged in a container (11) comprising a bottom (13) and a side wall (12) through which side wall a supply line (4) for the sludge and an outlet (41) for the separated water run.
