At least two machining parameters are continuously modified during formation of the recess hole, and/or at least one machining parameter is continuously modified on a switch path between the recess hole and an endpoint lying on the cutting contour.

摘要: A system for making a build using directed energy deposition is provided. The system includes a primary heat source; a processing nozzle movable relative to the build for delivering a metal powder, a carrier gas for the metal powder, and a shield gas to the build; a melt pool sensor for providing information regarding a temperature of a melt pool of the build; a secondary heat source separate from the primary heat source positionable relative to the build for delivering heat to a selected area of the build; a cooling source positionable relative to the build for delivering a cooling fluid to a selected area of the build; and a control system for operating the primary heat source, the secondary heat source and the cooling source to maintain a desired temperature profile for the build. The system preferably includes a temperature sensor for providing a temperature profile of the build. The temperature control system preferably includes a programmable controller configured to control the secondary heat source and the cooling source to conform the temperature of the build to the desired temperature profile. In one embodiment, the programmable controller is pre-programmed with a dynamic thermal model of a thermal history of the build for each time step.

摘要: A removably attached coupling assembly can he used to he attached to a laser focus optic assembly of a liquid jet guided laser system. The coupling assembly can include a coupling body, a window assembly, and a nozzle assembly. The coupling assembly thus can allow the independent and separate servicing of the window and the nozzle. For example, to service the window, the coupling assembly can be first detached from the laser focus optic assembly, exposing the top portion of the coupling assembly. The window assembly then can be detached from the coupling assembly. The window can be removed from the window assembly for servicing, such as being repaired or replaced.

The manufacturing machine includes: a first headstock and a second headstock disposed in a machining area and configured to hold a workpiece; a tool spindle and a lower tool rest disposed in the machining area and configured to hold a tool to be used for subtractive manufacturing for the workpiece: an additive manufacturing head configured to discharge a material during additive manufacturing for the workpiece a workpiece gripper configured to grip the workpiece during transportation of the workpiece into and out of the machining area; and a robot arm on which the additive manufacturing head and the workpiece gripper are mountable. Accordingly, the manufacturing machine improving the productivity in the simple and easy manner is provided.

摘要: A method forming a metallic structure having two or more portions is provided. The method can include providing a first layer of metal-forming material and then applying energy of a first power level to a first area of the first layer of metal-forming material to form a first portion of the metallic structure having a first density. Energy of a second power level can then be applied to a second area of the first layer of metal-forming material to form a second portion of the metallic structure having a second density. A second layer of the metal-forming material can be applied on top of the first portion and the second portion. The energy of the first power level can be applied to a first area of the second layer of metal-forming material and the energy of the second power level can be applied to a second area of the second layer to form the metallic structure.
