摘要: This invention provides a separation method for an adhesive tape and a separation device that can reliably and efficiently perform the operation of removing the backing sheet from the adhesive sheet of the adhesive tape and can be automated with a simple structure. The adhesive tape comprises a base sheet, an adhesive sheet which is applied to the base sheet and a backing sheet laminated to the base sheet. According to the invention, one end of the adhesive tape is supported leaving that end as a free end. Separation means is used to bend the free end in the direction from a first surface of the adhesive tape to a second surface of the adhesive tape until slippage occurs between the adhesive sheet and backing sheet. While in this state, the separation means is withdrawn from the adhesive tape as it traces the end surface at the free end. Thus, the backing sheet is removed from the adhesive tape and can be affixed to an object.

摘要: A device for peeling off an edge portion of a sheet which has an adhesive paper layer and a released paper layer. This device is provided with a casing, a guide portion for guiding the insertion of the sheet, two eccentric rollers provided in the casing in such a manner as to face to each other, a drive motor for rotating the eccentric rollers in a same direction, a control portion for controlling the drive motor, and a limit switch, connected to the control portion, for imposing a limitation on a position into which the sheet is inserted. The sheet is inserted into a space between the eccentric rollers by being guided by the guide portion. When the limit switch detects the sheet, the rollers are driven by the drive motor so as to make the adhesive paper layer and the released paper layer slide in opposite directions, respectively. Consequently, the released paper layer can be easily peeled away from the adhesive paper layer.

摘要: The present invention provides a novel structure of a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape and an ink ribbon used for printing, which prevents the printing tape from being stuck in a cartridge case or the ink ribbon from being slackened. The tape cartridge of the invention has a mechanism for preventing an end of the tape from being reversely moved back into the cartridge case. A typical structure of the mechanism includes an anti-inversion system which prevents a tape core having a tape wound thereon from rotating in a reverse direction, that is, a direction opposite to a normal rotating direction for printing. The anti-inversion effects are removed when the tape cartridge is set in a printing device such as a tape writer to ensure smooth feeding of the tape for printing. When the tape is forcibly pressed back into the cartridge case, a movable platen clamps the tape between the platen and a fixed wall to prevent reverse movement of the tape. The tape cartridge of the invention also includes an anti-slack mechanism for preventing slack of the ink ribbon through engagement of a ribbon winding core with an anti-rotational engagement piece. Engagement of this anti-slack mechanism is also released when the tape cartridge is set in the printing device.

摘要: The present invention provides a tape printing device for printing a desirable series of characters on a tape and cutting the tape to a label of a desirable length, and also a tape cartridge used in the tape printing device. The tape cartridge has a characteristic element readably storing specific information on the tape such as a width of the tape. The tape printing device reads the characteristic element to control printing conditions according to the type of the tape cartridge. More specifically, the tape printing device determines a variety of parameters including a number of lines and character sizes of the character series printed on the tape as well as lengths of left and right margins. When a tape of a relatively large width is set in the tape cartridge, the device increases a rotation torque of a platen for feeding the tape. When a tape of a relatively small width is set in the tape cartridge, on the contrary, the device drives only specific dot elements in a range of the tape width out of all dot elements arranged on a printing head. The characteristic element of the tape cartridge stores the specific information expressed as depths of a plurality of holes or electric data. This specific information may be updated to identify a user or detect a residual amount of the tape.

摘要: There are provided a printing apparatus and a method of making a mask pattern for exposure by the use of the printing apparatus. A temperature of a thermal head is detected, and a plurality of split pulses formed by dividing a strobe pulse applied to the thermal head are sequentially applied with quiescent periods interposed therebetween. There is stored in advance pulse-applying data of settings of a cumulative period of pulse-applying periods over which the plurality of split pulses are respectively applied, a number of the split pulses, the split pulse-applying periods, and the quiescent periods, defined in a manner corresponding to values of the temperature of the thermal head. Appropriate pulse-applying data is read out according to the temperature detected, and application of the split pulses is controlled according to the appropriate pulse-applying data. In another form, the split pulses are controlled in a manner such that the cumulative period of the split pulse-applying periods is sufficient for a time period over which the strobe pulse is required to be applied.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for driving and controlling a thermal head used in a printing device, such as a tape printer, in response to the temperature variations of the printing device environment and the thermal head. According to the present invention, in the printing operation of the tape printer, measurements are made of the initial temperature T1 immediately after the power is switched on, the temperature prior to printing T2, and the ambient temperature of the thermal head each time the thermal head prints T3 (i). If the temperature difference between the initial temperature T1 and the temperature prior to printing T2 is small, the duration of the current signals provided to the thermal head is controlled in accordance with the temperature prior to printing T2, which is the most recently measured thermal head ambient temperature best reflecting the printing device environmental temperature. If the difference is large, the duration is controlled in accordance with the initial temperature T1 which then best reflects the environmental temperature. If the rate of the increase in temperature during printing T3(i) is large, the duration is controlled in accordance with the initial temperature T2 to reduce the duration. If the temperature during printing T3(i) exceeds a temperature which indicates overheating, the printing operation is aborted. Thus, the present invention allows for controlling the thermal head drive by means of the measured thermal head temperature excluding the effect of the heat generation of the thermal head and in accordance with the thermal state of the thermal head.

摘要: Analog-to-digital conversion and the CIF format conversion are performed by the video camera whose pixel number is an integral multiple or its reciprocal of that of the CIF. Therefore, it is not necessary to employ the line interpolation circuit using a large-sized memory, so that the circuit arrangement of the television conference system, the video-telephone system and so on using the codec can be simplified and the production costs thereof can be reduced. Since the video camera output is digital, even if the sampled phase fluctuates, the compression efficiency in the codec (or the coder) is prevented from being lowered and the compression efficiency can be improved.
