Abstract:
The apparatus recognizes line length of character strings and judges if a line is longer than a threshold length. Slewing addition control divides a character string longer than the threshold length into two lines. When the number of inputted characters exceeds that allowed in the line, that part of the character string having the number of characters allowed for the line and that part of the characters overflowing the number of characters allowed in the line are displayed in different manners. The apparatus also calculates a ratio of lengths of a pair of specific lines to one or more other pairs, determines a character-size-type based on the ratios thus obtained, determines basic character sizes of the respective lines based on the character-size-type and then determines a character size for each line based on the length information and the basic character size of each line.
Abstract:
An external character creating method is provided for an image forming apparatus having a display screen. The external character creating method includes the steps of displaying at least a portion of image data in a specifying area on the display screen, displaying a dot-shaped cursor on the display screen, and creating an external character on the displayed image data using the cursor. The cursor is fixed at a position in the specifying area, so that the image data is scrolled in the vertical direction and in the horizontal direction to create an external character.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for processing character information to be formed on a seal, restricted size label, or other printing medium provides for recognizing character string lengths exceeding a threshold length determined from the printing medium when an instruction for development is made. The character string is divided into two lines and developed on the printing medium. The character string is divided equally, at a mode change, or into lines with the first line being longer than the second line. Over-limit characters are displayed in a different manner distinguishing from in-limit characters.
Abstract:
There is provided a stamp-making method and apparatus therefor for making a square or circular stamp which can be accurately imprinted with reference to a top-indicating mark provided thereon, without discriminating the orientation of the stamp image engraved on the stamp surface thereof. There is formed first direction-oriented image data having each of a plurality of component elements of plate-making image data oriented in a first direction. When it is detected that it is difficult to discriminate orientation of the stamp body having the mark without reference to the mark, an instruction is given for arranging the image data in a manner oriented in a second direction. According to the instruction, the first direction-oriented image data is converted to a second direction-oriented image data in which the component elements of the plating-making image data are oriented in the second direction. A stamp body is engraved by the use of the second direction-oriented image data to thereby make a stamp.
Abstract:
A stamp-making apparatus is provided in which a transparent presser plate is arranged such that the presser plate is parallel with a stamp-making object material, an ink ribbon having a stamp image formed thereon is urged against the stamp-making object material via the presser plate, and exposure of the stamp-making object material to light is carried out via the ink ribbon as a mask. A ribbon feeder rolls out an ink ribbon wound around one end portion thereof to a position facing the stamp-making object material, and then rolls up the ink ribbon around another end portion thereof. A relative translation of the presser plate and the stamp-making object material is made toward each other by moving at least one of the presser plate and the stamp-making object material to thereby urge the ink ribbon against the stamp-making object material. Guide means guides the ink ribbon when the ink ribbon is fed, to space between the presser plate and the stamp-making object material. Tension of the ink ribbon is regulated in a manner linked to operation of the relative translation of the presser plate and the stamp-making object material made toward each other.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a character information printing apparatus for printing a previously inputted character string on a print medium in which at least a transversal dimension is fixed. The apparatus is adapted to introduce instruction information as to a special printing in which, when X print medium portions on which printings are completed are arranged contiguously in the longitudinal and transversal directions thereof, one quasi print resultant having a dimension X times that of each of the print medium portions is obtained. The apparatus includes special printing introducing means for introducing either an operation of performing printing on all the X print medium portions or an operation of performing printing on a part of the print medium portions located in a position specified in the print resultant; print attribute determining means for determining a print attribute, such as character position, with respect to each of the print medium portions; and printing means for printing, when the instruction of performing printing on a part of the print medium portions located in the position thus specified, a character string portion corresponding to the specified position on a print medium in accordance with the print attribute thus determined.
Abstract:
A character string including one or more full-width characters and one or more half-width numerical characters is input and printed on a tape. The half-width characters are input by a symbol entering mode and have widths which are one-half the widths of ordinary characters. Two half-width numeric characters to be printed consecutively are developed in a font development area corresponding to that required for one full-width character so that the two half-width numeric characters can be handled as a single character.
Abstract:
There are provided a printing apparatus and a method of making a mask pattern for exposure by the use of the printing apparatus. A temperature of a thermal head is detected, and a plurality of split pulses formed by dividing a strobe pulse applied to the thermal head are sequentially applied with quiescent periods interposed therebetween. There is stored in advance pulse-applying data of settings of a cumulative period of pulse-applying periods over which the plurality of split pulses are respectively applied, a number of the split pulses, the split pulse-applying periods, and the quiescent periods, defined in a manner corresponding to values of the temperature of the thermal head. Appropriate pulse-applying data is read out according to the temperature detected, and application of the split pulses is controlled according to the appropriate pulse-applying data. In another form, the split pulses are controlled in a manner such that the cumulative period of the split pulse-applying periods is sufficient for a time period over which the strobe pulse is required to be applied.
Abstract:
There is provided an electronic apparatus for carrying out physical processing on a workpiece removably mounted in a pocket formed in a body of the apparatus, based on internal data. The mounting of the workpiece is detected. An alarm is given to indicate that no workpiece is mounted in the pocket, if the mounting of the workpiece is not detected after the electronic apparatus is started. In another form, text data used last time is deleted based on results of discrimination as to whether or not a workpiece different in kind from one mounted last time is mounted, based on results of detection of the kind of the mounted workpiece. There is also provided an electronic apparatus for carrying out exposure as physical processing on a workpiece having a portion formed of a photosensitive resin having a temperature-dependent property, based on internal data. Internal data defining exposure time periods corresponding to ambient temperatures is stored. Exposure is carried out over an exposure time period set according to a detected ambient temperature based on the internal data. There is also provided a method of guiding user's manual operations of an electronic apparatus. One of the LED's in an active position of a plurality of operating positions of an operating element for processing is caused to flicker. One of the LED's in one of the plurality of operating positions of the operating element to be made active next is operated, after the processing in the active position of the operating element.
Abstract:
A plate-making sheet in the form of a strip having two longer-sides and two shorter-sides includes a base sheet and an adhesive sheet laminated on the base sheet. The adhesive sheet has a label portion formed in the middle thereof for being printed with an image. The label portion is defined by a cutting line formed in the adhesive sheet. A plate-making sheet group includes a plurality of types of plate-making sheets having respective label portions different from each other, which are distinguished from each other in respect of color of at least one of the base sheet and the adhesive sheet. A printing apparatus for printing a stamp image on the label portion of the plate-making sheet comprises a printing mechanism for printing a stamp image on the label portion, a feed mechanism for feeding the plate-making sheet through the printing mechanism, and a sensor for detecting feeding of the plate-making sheet into the printing mechanism. The length of a portion of a feed path of an ink ribbon, which extends from a point where the ink ribbon leaves the printing mechanism to a central point of a stamp surface of a stamp-making object material, is substantially equal to a half of a length of each of the two longer-sides of the plate-making sheet.
