Abstract:
A method of buffer status reporting for multiple preserved data protocol (PDP) contexts includes communicating with a base station. A service request is sent to the base station, the service request requesting a set of radio access bearers (RABs) for a set of PDP contexts. The set of preserved PDP contexts includes one or more PDP contexts that have no uplink data ready to transmit on a high speed shared data channel. The set of preserved PDP contexts also includes one or more PDP contexts that have uplink data ready to transmit on the high speed shared data channel.
Abstract:
A method of wireless communication reports buffer size in TD-HSUPA networks. A protocol data unit is transmitted and an artificial buffer size is reported in response to the transmitted PDU. The artificial buffer size corresponds to the size of a scheduling request. The actual buffer size is reported when a NACK is received or when a round trip timer expires. The actual buffer size corresponds to a PDU retransmit size.
Abstract:
A user equipment may save power and improve performance by adjusting a paging indicator detection threshold of power at which a user equipment (UE) determines a paging indicator channel transmission is received when detecting a signal on a paging indicator channel. The adjustment may be based on the UE's remaining battery power. When the battery power level is low, the threshold is increased to reduce false detections. When the battery power level is high, the threshold is decreased to increase the likelihood of detecting the signal on a paging indicator channel.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) may scale down a signal strength of a radio access technology (RAT) cell in a report to a serving cell to avoid multiple connection attempts to the same radio access technology cell. The UE may initiate a predefined timer, called a target cell timer, on which the scaling down of the reported signal strength of the particular RAT cell is based. The timer is initiated when the UE returns back to the serving cell after failure to access a top ranked RAT neighbor cell.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) measures a first measurement on a first serving cell or a first serving beam using at least one of a first receiver or a first measurement configuration with higher gain and power consumption. The UE measures a second measurement on one or more neighbor cells or one or more non-serving beams using at least one of a second receiver or a second measurement configuration with lower gain and power consumption, the second receiver being different than the first receiver or the second measurement configuration being different than the first measurement configuration. The UE transmits a measurement report to a network node based on the first measurement and the second measurement, selects a second serving cell or second serving beam based on the first measurement and the second measurement based on a rank, or ranks cells or beams based on the first measurement and the second measurement.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for dynamic rate matching patterns for spectrum sharing are described. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may measure one or more interference levels associated with resources of a physical resource block (e.g., interference levels associated with respective subcarriers or other division in the frequency domain, with respective symbol durations or other division in the time domain, or a combination thereof), and determine a rate matching pattern based on the interference level measurements. In some examples, the rate matching pattern may include a pattern of resources for communications between the UE and a base station (e.g., for downlink communications). The UE may transmit an indication of the rate matching pattern to the base station, and the base station may schedule or transmit one or more subsequent downlink transmissions based at least in part on the indication of the rate matching pattern received from the UE.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a feedback error configuration indicating an error threshold associated with a feedback error type of a set of feedback error types, and a time window for feedback error detection per frequency band combination. The UE may detect one or multiple feedback errors for the feedback error type within the time window, and determine that a number of the one or multiple feedback errors for the feedback error type exceeds the error threshold. The UE may transmit a feedback error indication based on the determination that the number of the detected one or multiple feedback errors exceeds the error threshold. The feedback error indication may include an indication of the one or multiple feedback errors and the feedback error type associated with the one or multiple feedback errors.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a wireless communications system, a user equipment (UE) may determine a preference of the UE for a termination point between a core network and a radio access network (RAN), the core network and the RAN supporting communications for the UE via at least one or a first cell and a second cell each associated with a multi-connectivity mode of the UE. The UE may transmit, to a base station, an indication of the preference of the UE for the termination point. In some cases, the base station may determine the termination point based on receiving the indication of the preference of the UE, and the base station may transmit a message indicating a configuration for the multi-connectivity mode to the UE, the configuration indicating the determined termination point.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an uplink grant via downlink control signaling for a cell group. The UE may determine an uplink error rate for the cell group based on the downlink control signaling. The UE may identify a radio link failure condition for uplink based on the uplink error rate exceeding an uplink error rate threshold. The UE may transmit a radio link failure indication indicating that the radio link failure condition is based on the uplink error rate. The network may send a cell group reconfiguration message to the UE to release the cell group.
Abstract:
Aspects relate to methods and apparatus for dedicated bearer (DB) establishment handling during call setup for long term evolution. According to aspects, a method is provided herein for wireless communications that may be performed, for example, by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes establishing a connection with a first access point (AP) to perform a call set up procedure for a call; receiving from the first AP a message associated with handover to a second AP; delaying giving up the call setup procedure for a duration if the message includes or is associated with an indication to release a dedicated bearer; and allowing establishment of a DB with the second AP during the duration. Consequently, the DB can be established with the second AP, without the UE giving up the call setup, and the call can be performed, thus improving user experience. Numerous other aspects are provided.
