    Abstract: In various implementations, methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable media are described for optimizing tune away carrier selection in a wireless communications system for position determination. The selection of a tune away carrier can be based on, for example, timing information related to pre-scheduled periods for receiving wireless position measurement signals, timing information related to pre-scheduled downlink data reception, timing information related to pre-scheduled uplink data transmission, etc.

    Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for behaviorally modelled smart notifications are provided. The apparatus analyzes first information associated with at least one user of an apparatus, and analyzes second information associated with a message received on the apparatus. The further compares the first information with the second information, and generates an alert instruction for indicating that the message is received, the alert instruction including one or more characteristics of an alert, the one or more characteristics being based on a result of the comparing. In an aspect, the apparatus may be configured to generate the alert based on the alert instruction.

    Abstract: A method for performing inter-frequency positioning measurements on positioning signals periodically transmitted by at least some of a plurality of cells in a wireless communication network is provided. The method includes receiving, at a mobile device, assistance data that identifies a first neighbor cell the plurality of cells, where the first neighbor cell transmits a first positioning signal. The method also includes obtaining a first cell property of the first neighbor cell. The mobile device then adjusts a duration of a first measurement gap in response to the first cell property. In one aspect, the first measurement gap corresponds to a time period during which the mobile device is to perform positioning measurements of the first positioning signal.

    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for improving performance of a touchscreen device. In an aspect, the touchscreen device receives a selection of an application or function based on a user touching a portion of a touchscreen display of the touchscreen device that includes an icon representing the application or function, collects biometric data of the user based on the user touching the portion of the touchscreen display, and determines whether the user is authorized to access the application or function based on the biometric data. In an aspect, the touchscreen device detects that a portion of the touchscreen display is unresponsive to user touch input, and in response to the detection, moves at least one icon displayed on the unresponsive portion of the touchscreen display to a portion of the touchscreen display that is responsive to user touch input.

    Abstract: In one aspect, an apparatus for scheduling are provided. The apparatus may detect a user activity. The apparatus may estimate a finish time of the user activity. In response to determining the estimated finish time falls behind the start time of a scheduled event, the apparatus may issue an alert about a conflict of the activity with the scheduled event. In another aspect, an apparatus for managing activities are provided. The apparatus may receive a navigation request to a destination and an indication to participate in a phone call while traveling to the destination. The apparatus may provide a route from the current location of the user to the destination. The apparatus may estimate wireless communication coverage conditions along the route. The apparatus may further issue an alert about zones of wireless communication coverage weaker than a threshold based on the wireless communication coverage conditions along the route.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a carrier aggregation (CA) configuration including at least a primary component carrier (PCC) and a secondary component carrier (SCC), where the PCC is configured for frequency domain duplexed (FDD) communications and the SCC is configured for time domain duplexed (TDD) communications. To determine whether sounding reference signal (SRS) carrier switching (e.g., between the PCC and the SCC) is appropriate, the UE may monitor performance metrics. If the performance metrics fail to satisfy corresponding thresholds, the UE may reduce an SRS periodicity. For instance, the UE may request that a network entity reduce the SRS periodicity. Alternatively, the UE may reduce a quantity of antennas used for the SRS transmissions. In other examples, the UE may initiate an interchange between the PCC and the SCC such that SRS carrier switching is no longer utilized.
