摘要： A card guide for accounting machine front-feed devices includes two symmetric hopper elements slidably mounted on a supporting bar for adjusting the distance between them in order to accomodate different types of accounting cards and forms. The hoppers are secured to the supporting bar by a lever-operated pair of shoes being commonly pivoted and located at the edge portions of the hoppers for improving mechanical rigidity. Each hopper is further provided with actuable gripper means for firmly retaining cards in the hopper during printing and releasing the cards for permitting replacement. The main shaft of the accounting machine automatically governs the cyclic operation of the gripper means through a linkage.

A mixture of ink and oil is formed which is applied to the printing master. 摘要： A diameter measuring gauge for machine tools comprising two opposed feelers both movable with respect to one another. The feelers are mounted on arms carried by sleeves that slide on a column. The arms are biased in so that the feelers contact the workpiece with the proper pressure. A hydraulic cylinder coupled to the arms drives the two arms until the feelers make initial contact with the workpiece, then the hydraulic pressure is removed. Measurement is accomplished by a pair of windings carried by the arms in juxtaposition to each other to electrically interact to produce an electrical signal proportional to the diameter of the workpiece.

摘要： A dimension comparator for machine tools is disclosed wherein a first comparator compares a theoretical numerical dimension with an actual dimension as determined by a position measurer. After it is determined that the actual dimension is greater or less than the theoretical dimension, a second comparator compares the actual dimension to a numerical value representing the theoretical dimension plus or minus the numerical value of an aiming interval. This representative numerical value is determined by an adder controlled by the output of the first comparator. In an alternative embodiment, means are provided for controlling the adder to add predetermined increments to the theoretical dimension for comparison in the second comparator.

摘要： An electrothermal printer for non-impact printing on plain paper which makes use of a ribbon which is made up of a substrate having a thermal transferrable ink coated on the surface towards the plain paper and a coating of electrically resistive material on the other side. The ribbon is held in contact with the paper while a plurality of selectively energizable electrodes are held in contact with the resistive material coated side of the ribbon. The electrodes are selectively energized for causing a current to pass through an incremental portion of the resistive material to another electrode which is held in contact with said resistive material a short distance from said selectively energizable electrodes. The current in the incremental portion of the resistive material causes enough I2R heating to soften the wax coated on the substrate directly opposite to the heated portion. The softened ink transfers to the plain paper sheet as a dot or a line.

摘要： An apparatus for automatically testing electronic printed circuit boards is provided with a plate having a plurality of resiliently biased contacts disposed in the same configuration as the connecting positions of the board to be tested. Under manual control, the circuit board is moved toward the plate to bring the contacts against the corresponding connecting positions. Each of the contacts is associated with a common terminal of a multiposition switch having a plurality of selectable terminals. One of the selectable terminals of each multi-position switch is connected to a computer for selectively sensing the electrical conditions of the terminal. The other selectable terminals are connected to a plurality of means for generating input conditions, and the computer includes means for selectively connecting the contacts to one of the input condition generating means in a manner to isolate each of the circuits functionally in succession in order to test them individually. The computer further includes memory devices to store the test program and data sets relating to the testing of a number of different types of circuit boards. The data set for a particular type of circuit board is manually selected by means of a keyboard, and the results of the test are automatically printed.
