The n-channel MIS transistor includes a p-type semiconductor region formed on the substrate, a lower layer gate electrode which is formed via a gate insulating film above the p-type semiconductor region and which is one monolayer or more and 3 nm or less in thickness, and an upper layer gate electrode which is formed on the lower layer gate electrode, whose average electronegativity is 0.1 or more smaller than the average electronegativity of the lower layer gate electrode. The p-channel MIS transistor includes an n-type semiconductor region formed on the substrate and a gate electrode which is formed via a gate insulating film above the n-type semiconductor region and is made of the same metal material as that of the upper layer gate electrode.
Abstract:
A receiver includes an array antenna, terminals, switches, a receiving circuit, a switch control unit and a reactance setting unit. Receiving circuit determines a received frequency and a received signal quality of a received signal by demodulating the received signal provided from the array antenna. The receiving circuit provides the received frequency to the reactance setting unit as a frequency setting signal, and provide the received signal quality to the switch control unit and the reactance setting unit. The reactance setting unit sets a set of the reactances corresponding to the received frequency in the terminals for each frequency, and the switch control unit switches connections in the switches to provide the received signal quality equal to or greater than the threshold.
Abstract:
The knee-protecting airbag device includes an airbag that protrudes rearward from a housing and deploys upward when fed with inflation gas. The airbag includes an upstream part located toward lower end of the completely inflated airbag and located upstream of inflation gas, and a downstream part located toward upper end of the completely inflated airbag and located downstream of inflation gas. The downstream part is adapted to protect an area from shins to knees of an occupant when the airbag is completely inflated. In the course of airbag inflation, internal pressure of a shin-protecting area, which is part of the downstream part for protecting shins, peaks 5 to 15 ms later than a peak time of internal pressure of the upstream part.

A deconvolution analysis apparatus includes a sputtering rate calibrating unit that calibrates a depth profile resulting from a depth analysis on a sample to be estimated by using a sputtering surface analysis, according to a depth change of a sputtering rate in an initial sputtering; and a deconvolution analysis unit that performs a deconvolution analysis on the depth profile whose depth axis is extended, so as to make a depth change of a depth resolution in the initial sputtering apparently constant.

A surface-mount positive temperature coefficient thermistor includes a disk-shaped positive temperature coefficient thermistor element having electrodes provided on opposing main surfaces thereof, an insulating case having an inner space with the thermistor element inserted therein, and a pair of metal terminals arranged to make electrical contact with the respective main surface electrodes of the thermistor element, and to sandwich therebetween the thermistor element. The insulating case includes a pair of main surfaces that are substantially parallel to the main surfaces of the thermistor element, a pair of opening side surfaces each having an opening, and a pair of end surfaces each having a terminal insertion hole provided therein. One end of each of the pair of metal terminals is inserted from the respective terminal insertion holes into the inner space, and the metal terminals press-hold the thermistor element so as to sandwich the thermistor element therebetween.
Abstract:
An array antenna includes a feeder element, a parasitic element implemented by a slot line, a variable capacitance element, and a directivity switching unit. The variable capacitance element is loaded in the slot line. The directivity switching unit supplies a control voltage to the variable capacitance element in order to vary the capacitance, and switches directivity of the array antenna.
Abstract:
An information reproducing apparatus includes a device operable to reproduce image signals recorded on a recording medium; a unit operable to set at least one image signal start point and end point for editing the recorded image signals; a storage device operable to store the image signal start points and end points thus set; and a controller operable to control the display of marks corresponding to the stored image signal start points and end points. The controller controls the display in such a manner as to display marks corresponding in number to the stored start and end points. The controller also controls the display so that the marks corresponding to the stored start and end points are displayed in a color different from the color of the marks corresponding to the start and end points not yet stored, and so that the marks corresponding to the start and end points already reproduced are displayed in a color different from the color of the marks corresponding to the start and end points not yet reproduced.
Abstract:
An optical fiber tape having low polarization mode dispersion characteristics and applied to a dense wavelength multiplex (DWDM) transmission system of a transmission rate from several Gb/s to several tens of Gb/S. We have found out that the polarization mode dispersion of an optical fiber tape relates to the loss tangent (tanδ) determined when the dynamic viscoelasticity is measured, and that particularly, if the loss tangent of when a dispersion shift fiber is used is made 0.080 or more and the loss tangent of when a single mode optical fiber is used is made 0.042 or more, the polarization mode coefficient of dispersion (PMD) is reduced to 0.3 ps/{square root}km preferable to realize a DWDM transmission system.
