    摘要: Disclosed is a soft and flexible thermoplastic resinous composition having high impact and tear resistances, a good processability and a good thermal adhesion to a wide variety of plastic and other materials. The resinous composition consists essentially of 5 to 70 wt. % of a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer and 30 to 95 wt. % of a modified polyolefin or an olefin copolymer, having functional groups of at least one type selected from carboxyl, carboxylate salt, carboxylic anhydride, amide, hydroxyl and epoxy groups. A typical application of the thermoplastic resinous composition is a laminate having at least two lamine bonded to each other, at least one of the laminae being comprised of the above-mentioned resinous composition and the other being comprised of at least one material selected from vinyl chloride polymer resins, vinylidene chloride polymer resins, thermoplastic polyester resins, ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer resins, polyamide resins, polyacrylonitrile and nitrile copolymer resins, polystyrene and styrene copolymer resins, polymethyl methacrylate and acrylic copolymer resins, polyurethane resins, olefin polymer resins, polyacetal resins, polyvinyl acetal resins, polycarbonate resins, polyphenylene oxide resins, polysulfone resins, epoxy resins, phenol-formaldehyde resins, unsaturated polyester resins, melamine-formaldehyde resins, urea-formaldehyde resins, natural and synthetic rubbers, cellulosic materials, cement, glass and other ceramic materials and metals.

    摘要: A decorative laminate of thermoplastic material which is capable of obscuring surface imperfections in the surface to which it is applied comprises a base layer containing not more than 2% by weight of plasticizer and a decorative layer, the base layer being two to four times the thickness of the decorative layer and the laminate having a total thickness of between 250 and 450 microns and a shrinkage of less than 0.5% at ambient temperatures.

    摘要: A method of improving the bond between dissimilar polymeric materials, such as, for example, a vinyl resin material and a polyurethane or acrylated polyurethane resin material, which comprises: including in the vinyl resin material an acrylate or an acrylated urethane; providing in the polyurethane or acrylated polyurethane resin material an organic peroxide or other UV or thermal activated free radical initiators; bringing the vinyl resin material and the polyurethane or acrylated polyurethane resin material into contact; and exposing the vinyl resin material and the polyurethane or acrylated polyurethane resin material, while in contact, to curing conditions in the presence of said organic peroxide or other UV or thermal activated free radical initiators, whereby there is sufficient chemical interreaction between these resin materials as to create a strong and permanent primary chemical bond therebetween, in addition to any secondary bonds, such as hydrogen bonds and/or van der Waals forces. The present invention also relates to the products involved in and resulting from such methods.

    摘要: An anti-slip mat is provided having a bottom surface adapted to permit the mat to lie flat on a flat surface and an opposite regularly undulated top surface characterized by having raised portions and depressed portions and being coated with an abrasive, anti-slip layer. A preferred method of forming such a mat includes steps of forming a layer of primer resin on a release liner, coating one surface of the primer resin layer with liquid curable polyurethane adhesive resin, distributing abrasive grain over the polyurethane resin layer while it is still liquid, at least partially curing the polyurethane resin, coating the resultant grain-coated surface with liquid curable polyurethane resin, curing the resultant coating, removing the release liner, forming an embossable sheet of a polymeric composition, contacting one surface of the polymeric sheet with the surface of the primer resin layer opposite the abrasive surface to provide a laminated structure and embossing the laminated structure to provide the mat.
