Abstract:
Provided are a seat cover for an automobile and a manufacturing method therefor, the seat cover comprising a surface-treated layer, a cover layer, a soft foam layer, and a rear layer and comprising an embossing pattern formed on the top surface, wherein the soft foam layer comprises 15 to 20 foam cells per unit area of 1 mm2 of the surface thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a coating agent for leather, the coating agent containing: in terms of solid content ratio, (I) an aqueous urethane resin; (II) a matting agent; and (III) a silicone acryl graft copolymer resin emulsion in which the weight ratio of a polyorganosiloxane represented by a specified formula relative to acrylic ester units or methacrylic ester units is 50:50 to 90:10, and a leather on which a coating by the coating agent for leather is formed. This coating agent for leather has exceptional wear resistance and anti-fouling properties, and a leather on which a coating by the coating agent is formed can maintain a high-quality external appearance and high wear resistance.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a nubuck-finished leather-like sheet including a non-woven fabric that is an entangled body of ultrafine filaments, wherein the non-woven fabric includes a napped surface having napped fibers formed thereon, and the napped fibers are fixed to an acrylic resin on the napped surface while being laid down. Preferably, the acrylic resin is present so as to retain voids in the napped surface, while being made malleable.
Abstract:
A method for producing a breathable film based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC), including the following steps. Preparing a paste-like compound including a first fraction composed of PVC, a second fraction composed of a foreign material, and a third fraction composed of adjuvants and/or additives that that are mixed together to form the paste-like compound, applying the paste-like compound to a base, and drying and gelling the paste-like compound, which has been applied to the base, through the addition of heat, thus forming the film in which pores extending from the one surface of the film to the other are formed, which give the film breathability.
Abstract:
A resilient surface covering has a wear layer including a crosslinked aminoplast/polyurethane which is directly adhered to a vinyl support surface. The adhesion between the wear layer and support surface is improved by including at least 20% polyurethane by weight based on the total amount of aminoplast, polyurethane and epoxy resin in the wear layer composition, or by applying the wear layer composition to a gelled, but unfused vinyl support surface by fusing the vinyl support surface and curing the wear layer in a single step.
Abstract:
Floor and wall covering materials are provided with a barrier layer to inhibit the migration or dispersion of organic stainants from the surface of the underlying floor or wall into the decorative portions of the covering materials. The barrier layer comprises a plastisol and sodium silicate which is coated onto or incorporated into the floor or wall covering in the wet state as a mixture of plastisol and water glass, followed by heating to drive off water and gel or fuse the plastisol. The barrier layer is particularly compatible with sheet vinyl floor and wall covering materials. It can be coated onto the underside of the covering material or incorporated as a layer between the underside and the decorative portion of such material.
Abstract:
A lacquer composition comprising a water soluble reaction product of(a) a water soluble acrylic polymer or copolymer having pendant amine groups, and(b) a glycidyl ether of a di- or polyhydric alcohol or monomeric phenolic compound having 2-4 aromatic hydroxy groupswith the proviso that per amine equivalent of component (a) 0.5-0.85 epoxide equivalents of component (b) are present, the reaction product being hardened by a mixture of component (b) above and a glycidyl ether of a polymeric phenol-aldehyde condensate or of polyamine derived from ethyleneimine and/or propyleneimine. The composition is useful for coating such substrates as leather.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a resinous polymer sheet material having surface decorative effects of contrasting gloss and to the method of making the same. The material is made by applying to a base a printing composition layer forming a pattern with designated areas containing a photoinitiator and then applying to said printing composition layer a resinous polymer wear layer having therein an actinic radiation curable polymerizable and cross-linkable monomeric materials. The composite thus produced is exposed to actinic radiation so that the areas above where the photoinitiators were applied are cross-linked. The product is then heated to form the composition. The resulting product has a lower gloss in such areas as compared to the remainder of the surface of the sheet.
Abstract:
A method of improving the bond between dissimilar polymeric materials, such as, for example, a vinyl resin material and a polyurethane or acrylated polyurethane resin material, which comprises: including in the vinyl resin material an acrylate or an acrylated urethane; providing in the polyurethane or acrylated polyurethane resin material an organic peroxide or other UV or thermal activated free radical initiators; bringing the vinyl resin material and the polyurethane or acrylated polyurethane resin material into contact; and exposing the vinyl resin material and the polyurethane or acrylated polyurethane resin material, while in contact, to curing conditions in the presence of said organic peroxide or other UV or thermal activated free radical initiators, whereby there is sufficient chemical interreaction between these resin materials as to create a strong and permanent primary chemical bond therebetween, in addition to any secondary bonds, such as hydrogen bonds and/or van der Waals forces. The present invention also relates to the products involved in and resulting from such methods.
