The system includes a first operating input device to be operated at the near location, providing a first barrier control signal; and a second operating input device to be operated at the near location, providing a second barrier control signal. The first barrier control signal is communicatively connected to a near end of a first secure communication tunnel through the non-secure communication network, and the second barrier control signal is communicatively connected to a near end of a second secure communication tunnel through the non-secure communication network. A far end of the first secure communication tunnel is communicatively connected to an activating input of a first barrier circuit, and a far end of the second secure communication tunnel is communicatively connected to an activating input of a second barrier circuit.

摘要： Methods are disclosed for controlling a turret assembly with two or more gimbaled, swivel assembly sub-systems, such as a gimbaled gun and a gimbaled electro-optical sensor. The turret can be automatically slewed in response to one of the swivel assemblies rotating. A user can switch turret modes reflecting a priority between the gimbaled sub-systems system so that one takes priority over the other(s) during a mission.

In order to be able to aim the barrel of the mortar automatically in a simple and cost advantageous manner, the aiming device preferably comprises a carriage that can be moved along guideways essentially horizontally towards or away from the barrel. At the carriage, the first end region of a pivoted arm is mounted so that it can be rotated about a pivot axis, and the second end region of the pivoted arm is connected with a spherical plain bearing, guiding the barrel. The spherical plain bearing embraces a housing part, which is open at its end faces and in which an inner part is mounted spherically (rotatably), which contains a cylindrical barrel guide, for movably accommodating the barrel.

The sighting system includes a thermal video camera and a visible spectrum video camera, the thermal video camera and the visible spectrum video camera each producing a video output. The thermal and visible spectrum video outputs are provided to the operator interface for the GWS for display on a display included in the operator interface.

The drive mechanism has a stationary lower portion adapted to be mounted on the support and having a movable upper portion mounted for movement relative to the stationary portion. The improved drive mechanism broadly includes: a first power train (10, 12, 2, 4, 14) for controllably rotating a first gear (6); a second power train (9, 11, 1, 3,13) for controllably rotating a second gear (5); and a third gear (7) connected to the first output shaft and meshing with at least one of the first and second gears. The first, second and third gears form a portion of a differential-like mechanism (18) mechanically coupling the first and second power trains to the first output shaft. The first and second power trains may be selectively operated to controllably and cooperatively move the first output shaft to a desired position relative to the support.
