    摘要: A coupler for connecting the confronting ends of two fluid lines. The coupler includes a coupler housing having a generally tubular body extending along a longitudinal axis. The body includes an opening at a first end thereof for receiving a first tube in the body and an opening at a second end thereof for receiving a second tube in the body. Seals are provided for sealing engaging an end portion of the first tube within the body and for sealingly engaging an end portion of the second tube within the body. A clip extends radially inwardly from a slot in the body for engaging the first tube to retain the first tube within the body and to limit the longitudinal movement of the first tube into the body. The body includes a frangible neck portion intermediate the openings at the ends of the body for separating the first and second tubes by shearing the body at its neck portion.

    摘要: A layered tubing for use in a motor vehicle has five layers, namely a thick tubular outer layer formed of a Nylon 11 or Nylon 12, a thick tubular intermediate layer of Nylon 6, a thin tubular intermediate bonding layer between and bonded to the thick outer and intermediate layers and formed of polyethylene or polypropylene, a thin tubular intermediate solvent-blocking layer inside the thick layers and formed of a copolymer of ethylene and vinylalcohol, and an inner layer of Nylon 6 inside the blocking layer. The thick outer and intermediate layers each have a thickness of between 0.2 mm and 0.7 mm. The thin intermediate blocking layer comprises by weight 30% to 45% polyethylene and the intermediate blocking layer has a thickness of between 0.1 mm and 0.2 mm. The inner layer has a thickness of at most 0.1 to 0.5 mm and the bonding layer has active side chains of maleic acid anhydride and a thickness of between 0.05 mm and 0.2 mm.

    摘要: A pulsation preventive member for use with a pump constructed in the form of a hose disposed in a pump fluid passage. The hose is located in a fuel tank in such a manner that one end of the hose is connected with the pump and the other end of the hose is connected with a injector or the like. The hose is constructed so as to substantially inhibit pulsation by elastically deforming. The hose may have a substantially circular cross-sectional shape and a mesh-shaped thread layer incorporated therein. The mesh angle of the thread layer is preferably less than 50 degrees. Alternatively, the hose may have non-circular cross-sectional shape such as rectangular or elliptical cross-sectional shape. Further, the hose may be constructed so as to have a double-walled structure comprising an inner layer and an outer layer in the form of a hose with a plurality of connecting members interposed therebetween.

    摘要: An automatic shut off device for preventing air from entering the fuel system of an internal combustion engine when the fuel supply becomes low. The device provides a fuel chamber having an inlet connected to a fuel supply line, a float switch and an outlet connected to the engine fuel pump or fuel system. When the fuel supply falls below a preselected low level, but before the level reaches a lower inlet to a standpipe, the float switch is actuated to shut down the engine before air can enter the engine fuel system, thereby eliminating the necessity of bleeding the fuel system when the fuel supply is restored. A bleed orifice at the top of the fuel chamber allows trapped air to escape and return to the fuel tank when fuel is restored to the device.
