    摘要: A damper assembly for absorbing and attenuating torsionals and vibrations transmitted from an engine to a transmission is provided. The damper assembly includes a damper flange with a plurality of spring-mass damper systems operatively attached thereto and elongated circumferentially about its outer periphery. Each spring-mass damper systems include an inner spring nestably positioned inside an outer spring, a first spring retainer having a base portion defining a first interface surface with a first pilot portion extending therefrom to define a second interface surface with a second pilot portion extending therefrom, and a second spring retainer having a base portion defining an interface surface with a pilot portion extending therefrom to define a fourth interface surface. The first and third pilot portions engage with and thereby restrict axial and radial movement of the outer spring. The second pilot portion is attached to the inner spring thereby restricting relative movement therebetween.

    摘要: A torsional vibration damper includes a plurality of coil springs which are each received in a pair of windows of respective takeoff side and drive side transmission elements. Each spring has a pair of opposed final turns separated by a plurality of intermediate turns, wherein each final turn is against a circumferential boundary of a respective window. Each final turn has a tip area which is in contact with an adjacent intermediate turn, the final turn being separated from the adjacent intermediate turn by a first distance which increases from the tip area to a maximum value within a predetermined angle φ following the tip area. This maximum value, in a load-free state of the springs, is essentially the same as a second distance separating adjacent intermediate turns.

    摘要: A torsional vibration damper, particularly for use in the power train of a motor vehicle, employs one or more preferably arcuate coil springs having constant inner radii and one or more sets of neighboring smaller-diameter convolutions next to one or more sets of neighboring larger-diameter convolutions. The coil spring or springs is or are compressible by the retainers of two components which can turn, about a common axis, with and relative to each other and at least one of which defines a chamber for the coil spring(s). The retainers of the components can act upon the adjacent end convolutions of the coil spring or of two or more series-arranged coil springs between them by way of plastic slide elements and/or elastic bumpers. One or more plastic slides can partially surround selected convolutions to maintain it or them out of contact with the surface surrounding the coil spring(s) even when such spring or springs is or are being acted upon by centrifugal force in response to high-speed rotation of the components.

    摘要: An improved Davenport® multi-spindle automatic screw machine has a tool arm (14) mounted on a shaft (41) for rotational movement relative to a revolving head cap (13). A needle bearing (42, 42) is operatively arranged between the shaft and the revolving head cap. The bearing is radially loaded as said bearing is installed and that the individual needles of same remain elastically deformed by the radial load immediately after said bearing has been installed. The shaft has a hardened surface (52) that is engaged by the needles. The diameter of the shaft hardened surface portion is greater than the diameters of the adjacent shaft portions. Annular recesses (51, 53) extend into the shaft at either end of the hardened portion. These recesses have frusto-conical surfaces (55) that act as ramps to guide insertion of the press-fittable needle bearing into the space between the shaft and the head cap.

    摘要: A flexible flywheel is a member to which torque is input from a crankshaft 91 of the engine and includes a first flywheel 2 and a damper mechanism 4. The first flywheel 2 includes an inertia member 13, and a flexible plate 11 for connecting the inertia member 13 with the crankshaft 91. The flexible plate is flexibly deformable in the bending direction. The damper mechanism 4 includes an input-side disc-like plate 20 to which torque is input from the crankshaft 91, output plates 32 and 33 located rotatable relative to the input-side disc-like plate 20, and coil springs 34, 35, and 36 to be compressed in the rotational direction when both the plates rotate relative to each other. The first flywheel 2 can move relative to the damper mechanism 4 in the bending direction with a limited range.
