The shock absorber assembly may include a first hub, a second hub, and a bull gear having at least a portion sandwiched between the first and second hubs. The bull gear is configured to rotate independently of the first and second hubs a controlled distance in response to a mechanical malfunction of the PDU.

摘要: A pendulum crankshaft for an internal combustion engine includes a pendulum crankshaft having pendulum crank cycloid inserts. The inserts may thus be formed from high graded hardened steel while the crankshaft may be formed from conventional iron. The pendulum crankshaft includes a crankshaft having pendulum-holding ears. A cycloid insert-receiving aperture is formed in each of said ears for receiving a cycloid insert. Each of the cycloid inserts has a cycloid path formed therethrough. The pendulum is movably attached to the ears by a rolling pin fitted through the cycloid paths of the ears and captured between the cycloid paths formed in each half of the pendulum. Each half of the pendulum includes recessed areas on which the cycloid paths are formed. A pin is provided between each cycloid insert and the ear into which it is inserted to restrict rotation of the cycloid insert with respect to the ear.

摘要: A dynamic damper for attenuating torsional vibration of a rotary member, in which a weighted center of a rolling member is offset from a geometric center to trace an elliptical orbit of a cycloid pendulum. The dynamic damper including, a housing having a rolling surface on its inner surface is formed in a rotary member, and a rolling member held in the housing in a manner to be rolled on the rolling surface by torque pulse exerted on the rotary member. In the dynamic damper, a curvature of the rolling surface is entirely constant, and a radius of the rolling member is smaller than that of the rolling surface. A weighted center of the rolling member is offset from a geometric center thereof. The rolling member is guided by a guiding mechanism to roll on the rolling surface.

摘要: Vibration isolators can be dimensioned for securement between a rotational motion source and a rotational motion target. The vibration isolators can include a first end member and a second end member supported in substantially-fixed axial position but axially-rotatable relative to the first end member. An intermediate member can be disposed between and operatively engaging the first and second end members. A rotational motion-to-axial motion conversion system is operatively disposed between the intermediate member and the first end member such that rotation of the intermediate member and the second end member generates axial displacement of the intermediate member relative to the first and second end members. A biasing element can be operatively disposed between the intermediate member and one or more of the first and second end members to bias the intermediate member in an axial direction. Rotary power transmissions or system are also included.

The retention arrangement can maintain the retention pin in spaced relation to the retention surface during movement of the pendulum when the pin maintains the pendulum coupled to the carrier, and can retain the pendulum relative to the carrier through engagement of the retention pin and retention surface in an absence of the pin maintaining the pendulum coupled to the carrier.
