The cell controller of an apparatus for controlling a sheet metal machining line estimates an occurrence or non-occurrence of a pallet full load state defined as a function of the overall height or the total weight of the workpieces loaded on the carrier pallet by analyzing the machining schedule when a machined workpiece is loaded on the carrier pallet and has a replacing carrier pallet good for the next workpiece to be loaded stand-by whenever appropriate. A workpiece identifying apparatus determines the XY dimensions of a batch of workpieces on a pallet by arranging a number of absolute reference points arranged on the pallet and a number of relative reference points arranged on the workpieces and calculating the differentials between the absolute reference points and the corresponding relative reference points and the XY dimensions of a square defined on the pallet. The workpiece identifying apparatus additionally determines the material of the workpieces from the surface images of the workpieces taken by the cameras it carries by sequentially referring to the surface image data stored in a surface image data storage master. The workpiece identifying apparatus further determines the thickness of each of the workpieces and the number of workpieces on the pallet by determining the height of the accumulated workpieces and the gaps between any adjacently arranged workpieces.

A carrier orientation reversing station 15 is connected to the guide line 2d located upstream of the upstreammost assembly station 11 so that carriers 51 enter ones of the assembly station pairs, in the reverse-orientation state. Such arrangements allow the assembly workers A-C to perform assembly work on assembly workpieces for FAS products according to their respective assembly rates in an assembly line 1.

    摘要: In a pallet transfer apparatus, a base is reciprocably supported in a frame so that a hydraulic cylinder provided in the frame can drive the base. A pair of large-diameter sprockets and a pair of small-diameter sprockets are disposed on the upper and lower sides, respectively, of the frame, with a first and second endless roller chains fitted over the pairs of sprockets. The first endless roller chain includes a securing member which fixes the chain to the frame. The second endless roller chain has engaging member projected upward therefrom. In addition, a slider having a block in the intermediate part thereof is slidably mounted on a rail above the base. The engaging member engages the block. Moreover, the slider is provided with a catch for disconnectably engaging a hook of pallet P. When the base is driven by the hydraulic cylinder, the front small-diameter sprocket and the front large-diameter sprocket are integrally rotated since the first endless roller chain is fixed to the frame. As the large-diameter sprocket is rotated, the second endless roller chain is rotated, the engaging member is reciprocably moved twice the stroke of the hydraulic cylinder between the outermost points of the circumferences of the large-diameter sprockets, thus transferring pallet P by means of the slider.
