Abstract:
A line-imaging lens condenses a light beam from a light-source unit in one direction to form a line image. An optical deflecting unit deflects the light beam passing through the line-imaging lens. An imaging optical unit images the light beam deflected by the optical deflecting unit in a spot shape on a scanning surface to be scanned. An adjusting unit adjusts a position of irradiation of the light beam from the light-source unit on the optical deflecting unit.
Abstract:
A contact image sensor is provided including a housing, a slit plate a lens, one or two light sources and a light-receiving element array mounted on a light-receiving element array substrate. The housing contains the slit plate, the lens, the one or two light sources and the light-receiving element array substrate. The optical system of the contact image sensor is aligned and one or more depressions are formed on an end of the substrate for the alignment. Power to the one or two light sources is applied through one or more leads. Each of the one or more depressions is large enough so that each of the leads can be passed through the respective depressions.
Abstract:
A joining construction is described for mounting the CCD cells of a color line camera on a color splitting prism (30) attached to a prism housing (2) for each CCD cell (6, 7, 8) attached by a first glue joint (13), to its fastening element (9), the length (L2) whereof is essentially larger than the length (L1) of the CCD cell, and which fastening element (9) extends from the housing margin (12a) located on one side of said exit surface (20a, 20b, 20c) of the color splitting prism to the other housing margin (12b) located on the opposite side thereof. Each fastening element (9) is attached to said margins by third glue joints (11).
Abstract:
A securing device includes a sustaining member, a plurality of threaded holes, and a plurality of screws. The sustaining member includes a clamped portion and a securing portion extending from the clamped portion. The clamped portion is interfaced between the photoelectric conversion device and the carriage module housing. The thickness of the clamped portion is even enough to keep the distance between the photoelectric conversion device and the carriage module housing constant, thereby assuring that the photoelectric conversion device is orthogonal to the central line of a lens in the carriage module housing. The securing portion is flexible so as to facilitate the assembling operation of the circuit board, the photoelectric conversion device and the carriage module housing by way of the threaded holes and screws.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes a housing provided with a light passage, a transparent plate mounted on the housing, a light source for emitting light into the light passage, a lens array facing the image reading section on the transparent plate, a plurality of light-receiving elements arranged in an array extending in a primary scanning direction, and a light reflector formed on the transparent plate. The light reflector is offset from the image reading section in the secondary scanning direction, which is perpendicular to the primary scanning direction.
Abstract:
An image sensor according to the present invention includes a casing (4), a light source disposed in the casing (4) for emitting light toward an object (K) to be read, and an image sensor board (6) provided, on an obverse surface thereof, with a plurality of light receiving elements (52) for generating image signals upon receiving light reflected by the object (K). The image sensor board (6) is disposed so that the obverse surface thereof is directed inwardly of the casing (4). The substrate (6) is provided with a light shielding layer (61) for covering the reverse surface of the substrate at least entirely over a portion of the obverse surface where the plurality of light receiving elements (52) are mounted, so that disturbing external light is prevented from entering inside the casing (4).
Abstract:
A scanning module capable of finely tuning the optical length comprises a lamp tube, a base, a photosensitive substrate, and an adjustment unit. The lamp tube provides a required light source for a document to be scanned. The base has a reflective mirror set and a camera lens. The reflective mirror set is used to receive light from the document, and transmits the light to the camera lens for focusing. The photosensitive substrate is used to convert light outputted by the camera lens into electronic signals. The adjustment unit is used to adjust the optical length between the base and the photosensitive substrate. The total optical length can thus be adjusted to correct the inaccuracy of magnification. Or the distance between the camera lens and the photosensitive substrate can be adjusted to align the focal length within the allowable inaccuracy of magnification to achieve an output image of better quality.
Abstract:
A line scan camera comprises a printed circuit board upon which a charge-coupled device (CCD) is mounted. A lens component is fixed within a lens mount, and the base of the lens mount is adjustably mounted upon an optical bench. Calibration devices adjustably interconnect the lens mount to the printed circuit board and to the optical bench so as to calibrate the positional location of the lens component relative to the charge-coupled device (CCD) and to an object plane past which objects to be scanned and photographed are conveyed. In this manner, the focus distance defined between the lens component and the charge-coupled device (CCD) as well as the focal distance defined between the lens component and the object plane are fixed and do not need any further calibration. The object plane is defined upon the front surface of a sealed housing enclosure and all of the components are disposed within the housing enclosure so as to prevent dust and contaminants from collecting upon the optical components. LED arrays are disposed within the front of the housing so as to illuminate and properly expose the objects conveyed past the object plane. A positive pressure differential is also created within the sealed housing enclosure so as to prevent the ingress of dust and contaminants into the housing enclosure.
