Abstract:
A system and method for providing automatic voice recognition and voice response product location information in a store while using a personal mobile phone or any phone connected to a telecommunications or data communications network such as and including the Internet and an automatic speech recognition system. The system 403 & 404 asks a user and/or customer 300 a series of automated questions to help the user and/or customer 300 locate products in stores. In the embodiment of the invention, the user and/or customer 300 only needs to dial the toll free or dial in number 302 from any phone to use the system in order to receive the requested product location information or other available information by the automated response system. This invention creates the product location assistance (PLA) system to be used in locating products in stores, creating new efficiencies in customer service for retailers, businesses and organizations.
Abstract:
A system and method of merging text analysis results. The system uses a set of three corrected, weakened Jaccard factors to determine whether the respective results of multiple text analysis operations are equal, subtypes of each other or associated with each other, in order to merge the results.
Abstract:
In various example embodiments, a system and method to provide query linguistic service is provided. An initial query term set is received. Phrase recognition is performed on the initial query term set to determine recognized phrases. Using the determined recognized phrases, one or more synonyms for each of the recognized phrases are determined. Results matching the initial query term set and any selected synonyms from the determined one or more synonyms are determined.
Abstract:
Embodiments described herein provide approaches for validating synonyms in ontology driven natural language processing. Specifically, an approach is provided for receiving a user input containing a token, structuring the user input into a semantic model comprising a set of classes each containing a set of related permutations of the token, designating the token as a synonym of one of the set of related permutations, annotating the token with a class from the set of classes corresponding to the one of the set of related permutations, and validating the annotation of the token by determining an accuracy of the designation of the token as a synonym of the one of the set of related permutations. In one embodiment, the accuracy is determined by quantifying a linear distance between the token and a contextual token also within the user input, and comparing the linear distance to a pre-specified linear distance limit.
Abstract:
Natural language processing (NLP) approaches may be utilized to map two strings. The strings may come from sources utilizing different naming conventions. One example may be a data aggregator that collects used car transaction information. Another example may be a comprehensive database listing all possible manufacturer-defined vehicle options. A NLP system may operate to determine whether a source string is present in a target string and outputting a match containing the source string and the target string if the source string is present in the target string or computing a similarity factor if the source string is not present in the target string. The similarity factor representing a measure of similarity between two strings may be computed based on a plurality of parameters, including a Levenshtein edit distance parameter. The computed similarity can be used to find pricing information, including trade-in, sale, and list prices, across disparate naming conventions.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for processing a translation process which can minimize a change of a position of a text and an object and a change of a layout, where are included in original text are provided. A translation method includes identifying original text and translated text in which the original text is translated, and replacing at least one first translation object included in the translated text with a second translation object by comparing a length of the original text and a length of the translated text.
Abstract:
A grammar teaching system provides adaptive practice to build students' grammar skills with respect to verb tense errors. The system displays a sentence to a user, and allows the user to identify the locations of verbs within the sentence and tenses of the identified verbs. The system reinforces correct designations of verbs using visual cues. If a user incorrectly identifies a term as a verb within a sentence, then the system displays information to help the user understand the nature of the incorrectly designated term. The system allows the user to determine whether the sentence includes a verb tense error and to select a particular verb in the sentence to replace in order to correct any verb tense error. The system allows the user to obtain help in correcting a verb tense error by providing optional tasks that step the user through the reasoning needed to correct the error.
Abstract:
A method for linguistical analytic consolidation is described. The method includes displaying a user interface on a mobile device. The method also includes receiving source text content to display in the user interface. The method also includes scanning the source text content for a specific element. The method also includes flagging the specific element of the source text content to be modified according to a set of linguistic rules. Modifying the specific element according to the set of linguistic rules results in a consolidated form of the source text content.
Abstract:
A text processing apparatus includes an environmental information acquisition unit configured to acquire environmental information, a text acquisition unit configured to acquire text, a word extraction unit configured to extract a word from the text, and a joint indication unit configured to convert the word extracted from the text into a converted word using a dictionary that is accessed according to the environmental information acquired by the environmental information acquisition unit and indicate the converted word along with the word extracted from the text.
Abstract:
Embodiments presented herein describe a method for processing streams of data of one or more networked computer systems. According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, an ordered stream of normalized vectors corresponding to information security data obtained from one or more sensors monitoring a computer network is received. A neuro-linguistic model of the information security data is generated by clustering the ordered stream of vectors and assigning a letter to each cluster, outputting an ordered sequence of letters based on a mapping of the ordered stream of normalized vectors to the clusters, building a dictionary of words from of the ordered output of letters, outputting an ordered stream of words based on the ordered output of letters, and generating a plurality of phrases based on the ordered output of words.
