    摘要: A bearing holder (66) having a bearing (67) rotatably supporting a crankshaft (14) is fixed so as to face an opening (11k) of the engine case (11). A gas-liquid separation chamber (83) is formed between a cover member (68) covering the opening (11k) and the bearing holder (66). Therefore, by utilizing the bearing holder (66) as a part of the wall surface of the gas-liquid separation chamber (83), the gas-liquid separation chamber (83) can be partitioned without increasing the number of components and without forming a special wall surface in the engine case (11). Thus, it is possible to reduce the size and weight of the engine case (11), and reduce the cost by simplifying the shape thereof and reducing the number of components. Also, a labyrinth 82 is formed by ribs (66d, 66e, 68a, 68d) projecting from the bearing holder (66) and the cover member (68), and therefore gas-liquid separation can be effectively performed by the labyrinth (82). Thus, it is possible to provide a small light gas-liquid separation device with a small number of components.

    摘要: An overhead-camshaft internal combustion engine having an outer wall of a crankcase provided adjacent a crankshaft, with a spiral-surfaced opening through which the crankshaft is passed. The outer crankcase wall is integrally provided with a loop guide engaging recess formed thereon. The loop guide engaging recess supports a base end portion of a loop guide for guiding an endless chain. A loop-retaining member for preventing the timing endless chain from dropping is arranged at a position on the lower side of a loop drive sprocket integrally formed at an end portion of the crankshaft.

    摘要: An adapter for fitting a flywheel housing to a rotary load has a generally circular centering plate having a central circular aperture dimensioned to fit snugly around the load's collar and a circular outer periphery. The centering plate is formed with first and second arrays of holes equispaced from a center of the aperture. The first-array holes are spaced identically to and alignable with fastening formations of the load. An adapter plate engaged flatly with the centering plate is formed with a first array of at least two holes spaced identically to and alignable with the formations, and is stiffened. Respective fasteners are engageable, when the first-array holes of both plates are aligned with the formations of the load, through the adapter plate, centering plate, and fastener formations. The second-array holes of the circular centering plate are covered by the adapter plate when the plates are thus fastened together.

    摘要: In a case member mounting structure for mounting a chain case to an engine body, the chain case is fastened to the engine body by a number of bolts applied along the outer edges thereof and by bolts applied to portions in a central region thereof. The chain case has a plurality of central fastening boss portions in a central region of the inner wall surface, and bolt fastening holes are formed in the respective central fastening boss portions. An annular connection wall is formed in a projecting fashion to connect the central fastening boss portions such that the chain case is affixed to the engine body by putting the connection wall and the central fastening boss portions in abutment with the engine body. As a result, it is possible to fasten the chain case with fewer fastening bolts, enhance the rigidity of the central region of the chain case and prevent its vibrations.

    摘要: The invention is a slot-type accessory mounting 10 and process for quick attach-detach mounting an accessory 4 to an engine gearbox 2. The accessory mounting 10 includes a flange 1 which is provided with a plurality of circumferentially spaced axially protruding studs 7 attached to the gearbox 2 by screws 12. Slotted collar 3 is rotatably secured to accessory 4 by retaining ring 5 which is attached to the accessory 4 by stud nuts 21. The narrow end of slots 6 in collar 3 engage the studs 7 and the entire assembly is held together by nuts 9. Retaining ring 5 is provided with an alignment pin 22 which fits into bore 23 of flange 1 assuring proper alignment of the accessory 4 and gearbox 2. The process of mounting accessory 4 to gearbox 2 is carried out by aligning pin 22 and bore 23, bringing the flange 1 and retaining ring 5 together, passing the nut 9 carrying studs 7 through the larger end of slots 6 in collar 3 rotating collar 3 to secure studs 7 in the narrow end of slots 6, and torquing the nuts 9 to tighten the assembly. The quick detach process is carried out by loosening nuts 9 and rotating collar 3 so that studs 7 and nuts 9 align with the larger end of slots 6 in collar 3 allowing axial movement of accessory 4 of relative to gearbox 2.
