Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving packets in a broadcasting system are provided. The present disclosure allocates a padding size field by using padding octets, and thus can increase transmission efficiency. Also, the present disclosure does not restrict the number of padding octets while maintaining compatibility with existing disclosures, and thus can carry out as much padding as desired and as necessary. In addition, the present disclosure variably allocates the padding size field depending on the number P of padding octets, and thus can increase header efficiency. Furthermore, since the number of padded octets in a header is immediately known, the size of an actual payload is known in advance, and thus rapid transmission is possible.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting a packet in a communication system is provided. The method includes dividing a data stream into data payloads of a predetermined size and adding a common header to each of the data payloads, to generate a source payload, adding a first Forward Error Correction (FEC) payload Identifier (ID) to the source payload and applying an FEC code thereto, to generate an FEC source packet for a source payload, adding a second FEC payload ID to at least one parity payload and applying an FEC code thereto, to generate an FEC parity packet for the at least one parity payload, and transmitting the FEC source packet and the FEC parity packet.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for adaptively coping with a network environment are provided. The method and apparatus includes a packet descriptor for forwarding of Media Transport (MMT) packets in a network process of a switch or a router for processing MMT packets forwarding content expressed in a structure of an MMT standard. The method of managing a queue in a broadcasting system includes receiving a Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) MMT packet, obtaining a header of the MMT packet, and queuing the MMT packet according to a type value of a bitrate included in the header of the MMT packet.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for playing broadcast content in a broadcasting system are provided. The method and the apparatus enable a viewer to watch an entire event by broadcasting the event through different networks in a condition that the event may not be broadcast from start to finish over a single broadcasting network.
Abstract:
A method of a transmission device in a multimedia system comprises the steps of: detecting a request for changing first-type data into second-type data while the first-type data is being played at a given point in time; and transmitting, before the second-type data is played, information necessary for replaying data, among the first-type data, played prior to the given point in time, and/or data, among the second-type data, played prior to the given point in time.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving content is provided. A method for transmitting content in a transmitter includes generating a file with one or more packages including at least one asset, and transmitting the generated file to a terminal.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving information related to multimedia data in a hybrid network and a structure thereof are provided. The transmission method includes generating transmission characteristic information about the media data, and transmitting the transmission characteristic information. The transmission characteristic information includes valid range information about the transmission characteristic information.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for transmitting multimedia content. The apparatus includes a communication interface and a controller coupled to the communication interface. The controller is configured to identify a packet including a packet header and a packet payload. The packet payload includes an access unit including media data related to the multimedia content and information related to the access unit. The controller is also configured to identify control information for delivery and consumption of the multimedia content, and transmit the identified packet and the identified control information. The information related to the access unit includes information on a sequence number of the access unit.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method and device for receiving a content by a terminal device. The method for receiving a content by a terminal device comprises the steps of: transmitting a query message requesting content-related information to a first server; receiving a response message including the content-related information from the first server; on the basis of the response message, requesting a content from a second server corresponding to the content-related information; and receiving the content from the second server, wherein the content-related information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses of the second server, pieces of port information, and pieces of media information relating to a content.
Abstract:
A method for providing a broadcast service is provided. The method includes transmitting a user datagram protocol (UDP)/internet protocol (IP) packet including a first message, the first message containing information about a message to be signed and transmitted, and transmitting a moving picture experts group (MPEG) media transport protocol (MMTP) packet including a second message, the second message containing information about the broadcast service and information indicating whether the information about the broadcast service is signed. The first message includes an identifier of a key used to verify a signature of the message to be transmitted and signed and an identifier of a hash algorithm used to calculate a hash value of the message to be transmitted and signed.
