Fifth Generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system for supporting a data transfer rate higher than that of a fourth Generation (4G) communication system, such as Long Term Evolution (LTE), and subsequent systems. The present disclosure provides a method for transmitting a signal by a transmission terminal in a communication system using a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code. The method include receiving a change request for changing a coding rate of the LDPC code, from a reception terminal; determining a first coding rate based on the change request; and transmitting information on the first coding rate in respond to the change request, to a reception terminal, wherein the change request for changing the coding rate comprises at least one of information indicating a coding rate determined by the reception terminal, or information indicating a state of the reception terminal.

The present invention relates to method and apparatus for performing a decoding with low complexity in a wireless communication system. A decoding method of a terminal in a wireless communication system comprises determining a first characteristic value indicating a statistical characteristic of an interference signal based on a received signal of a base station, determining a second characteristic value indicating a statistical characteristic of an interference signal based on data received from the base station, and decoding the data according to a decoding scheme corresponding to a difference of the first characteristic value and the second characteristic value.

Provided is an operation method of a base station in a wireless communication system. The method comprises: receiving, from a terminal, at least one piece of information among channel quality information on a resource region allocated to the terminal and non-Gaussian information on a nulling region corresponding to the resource region; and determining a modulation order for the terminal, a code rate, a ratio of the resource region to the nulling region based on the channel quality information and the non-Gaussian information.

A Synchronization Channel (SCH) transmission method includes generating a Primary SCH (P-SCH) sequence according to supplementary information. The supplementary information includes at least one of Base Station (BS) type information, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) size information, BandWidth (BW) information, group information, sector information, and carrier type information. The method also includes modulating the P-SCH sequence and mapping the modulated P-SCH sequence to subcarriers within a predefined subcarrier set. The subcarriers are included in the subcarrier set being spaced one subcarrier interval apart. The method further includes generating a P-SCH symbol by Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)-modulating the P-SCH sequence mapped to the subcarriers, and transmitting the P-SCH symbol.

A method for transmitting data in a transmitting apparatus in a wireless communication system supporting a non-binary channel code is provided. The method includes generating at least one modulation symbol by modulating at least one code symbol based on a predetermined modulation scheme; and transmitting the at least one modulation symbol to a receiving apparatus, wherein the generating of the at least one modulation symbol comprises generating the at least one modulation symbol from the at least one code symbol to thereby reduce a number of complex modulation symbols generated from a plurality of code symbols.

A method for generating a decoding metric in a wireless communication system includes receiving an FQAM symbol and determining transmission probabilities of FQAM symbol candidates from a received value of the FQAM symbol, wherein the transmission probabilities of the FQAM symbol candidates are determined by multiplying a probability that a QAM symbol included in the FQAM symbol is mapped to each of candidate values in one frequency and a probability that a signal is not transmitted in the other at least one frequency.
