    Abstract: A receiver device includes circuitry to measure an error vector of a pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) sequence in a signal received from a transmitter and control logic coupled to the circuitry. The control logic removes estimated linear components from the measured error vector to generate a non-linear error vector. The control logic further determines, with reference to a set of lookup table (LUT) values, one or more tuning parameters for the PAM sequence based on the non-linear error vector and modifies the set of LUT values according to the one or more tuning parameters. The control logic further provides the modified set of LUT values to the transmitter, which when used by the transmitter to add digital pre-distortion to the PAM sequence, causes the non-linear error to be at least partially removed from the signal.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling pre-compensation of timing offsets in OFDM receivers without invalidating channel estimates are described. Timing offset estimations may be sent along with the received OFDM symbols for FFT computation and generating a de-rotated signal output. The timing offset estimation may provide a reference point for dynamic tracking of timing for an OFDM signal and estimated based on an integral value associated with the OFDM signal.

    Abstract: A method of estimating a wireless channel including determining a value of β from a finite set of discrete values for channel estimation in a slot N based on time-selectivity of a channel corresponding to the slot N; estimating the channel according to reference signal symbols received in the slot N; determining a transmit power level in a slot N−1, a transmit power level in the slot N, and a power offset ratio; identifying filtered channel coefficients in the slot N−1; and computing in real time filtered channel coefficients in the slot N according to a determined set of values β applied to generate a subset of equalized QAM symbols in the slot N, the estimated channel according to reference signal symbols received in the slot N, the determined power offset ratio, and the filtered channel coefficients in the slot N−1.

    Abstract: A data transmission device includes a de-interleaver configured to receive, from a host device at a first data rate, a data stream including encoded data, de-interleave the data stream into a plurality of forward error correction (FEC) data streams, and output the plurality of FEC data streams at a second data rate less than the first data rate. Each of a plurality of interleavers is configured to interleave a respective one of the plurality of FEC data streams into an intermediate data stream including first data blocks and second data blocks. An encoder module configured to generate, for each of the intermediate data streams, FEC blocks including a first parity section and a first data section, the first parity section including a first parity bit corresponding to the first data blocks and a second parity bit corresponding to the second data blocks, and the first data section including the first data blocks and the second data blocks, and output the FEC blocks at the second data rate.
