Abstract: A method and apparatus for enhancing an IMS service, an electronic device, and a storage medium. The method may include: measuring the transmission quality of service data of an IMS on a first channel between a terminal device and a network side; if detected that the transmission quality on the first channel is lower than a first threshold, then interrupting the sending of the IMS service data; simultaneously transmitting the IMS service data between the terminal device and the network side by means of at least two channels of the MA PDU session, the at least two channels comprising at least one 3GPP channel and at least one non-3GPP channel; and in response to receiving the IMS service data of the network side, performing redundant processing on the received IMS service data.

Abstract: Techniques for serving a manifest file of an adaptive streaming video include receiving a request for the manifest file from a user device. The video is encoded at different reference bitrates and each encoded reference bitrate is divided into segments to generate video segment files. The manifest file includes an ordered list of universal resource locators (URLs) that reference a set of video segment files encoded at a particular reference bitrate. A source manifest file that indicates the set of video segment files is identified based on the request. An issued manifest file that includes a first URL and a second URL is generated based on the source manifest file. The first URL references a first domain and the second URL references a second domain that is different from the first domain. The issued manifest file is transmitted to the user device as a response to the request.

Abstract: Systems and methods for allocating resources are disclosed. Resources such as streams are allocated using a stream credit system. Credits are issued to the clients in a manner that ensure the system is operating in a safe allocation state. The credits can be used not only to allocate resources but also to throttle clients where necessary. Credits can be granted fully, partially, and in a number greater than a request. Zero or negative credits can also be issued to throttle clients.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, method and/or computer program product embodiments for providing survivable calling and conferencing. An embodiment operates by providing, by a first server, a first sub-conference to a plurality of user devices over first lines. The first sub-conference is combined with a second sub-conference to form a collective conference of the plurality of user devices. The first server accesses the conference. A second server is configured to provide the second sub-conference of the collective conference to the plurality of user devices over second lines, the first and second lines being distinct from each other. The collective conference may provide resilient and reliable sharing of information among participants and may leverage dispersed elements or diverse links simultaneously without impediments of echoes, loops, or other impacts.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing error detection in a network, and, more particularly, to methods, systems, and apparatuses for implementing error and/or fault detection in a network and/or media stream and providing options to address the error and/or fault in the network and/or media stream. In various embodiments, a computer might detect an error in a first network and send a notification indicating that the error has occurred. The notification might contain one or more options to address the error in the first network. The computer, a user device, a service provider device, or a content provider device might receive and display the notification containing the one or more options. The computer, the user device, the service provider device, or the content provider device might then select at least one of the one or more options to address the error in the first network.

Abstract: A media item to be provided to users of a platform is identified. The media item is associated with a media class of one or more media classes. An indication of the media item is provided as input to a machine learning model trained based on historical encoding data to predict, for a given media item, a set of encoder parameter settings that satisfy a performance criterion in view of a respective media class of the given media item. The historical encoding data includes a prior set of encoder parameter settings that satisfied the performance criterion with respect to a prior media item associated with the respective class. Encoder parameter settings that satisfy the performance criterion in view of the media class is determined based on an output of the model. The media item is caused to be encoded using the determined encoder parameter settings.

Abstract: A content delivery server is configured to: receive a request for a chunk of a segment of a video stream, the segment of the video stream including a series of chunks, each of the chunks including a set of video frames, a first of the chunks being aligned with a first Instantaneous Decoder Refresh frame in the video stream, and a second of the chunks being aligned with a second subsequent Instantaneous Decoder Refresh frame in the video stream; determine whether the request was received during a first interval or a second subsequent interval of an intra period between the first of the chunks and the second of the chunks; output the first of the chunks or the second of the chunks for transmission based on the determination of whether the request was received during the first interval or the second interval.

Abstract: The technology described herein relates to implementing an adaptive bitrate (ABR) algorithm at edge nodes. A method for implementing an ABR algorithm at an edge node may include receiving at the edge node a request for a video segment from a client according to the client's ABR algorithm, the request indicating a quality. A weighted sum score for each of a set of qualities may be computed based on a quality score and a fairness score using the ABR algorithm at the edge node, the qualities including at least the requested quality and another quality. A modified request may be generated in response to the weighted sum score for the other quality being better than the weighted sum score for the requested quality. The modified request may be sent to a server. The video segment in the other quality may be received from the server and provided to a client.
