    摘要: A vehicle comprising: a locking mechanism for securing the vehicle; a user input device exposed to the exterior of the vehicle; a transceiver for communicating with a network external to the vehicle; and a processor configured for implementing a public/private key security algorithm and coupled to the transceiver for sending and receiving data by means of the transceiver, and coupled to the locking mechanism for disengaging the locking mechanism to permit access to the vehicle; the processor being configured to: receive from the transceiver a data block including a first token, the first token representing a public key of a user; receive from the user input device a second token; compare the first and second tokens to determine whether the second token is consistent with having been derived from a private key that forms a key pair with the public key; and if that determination is positive, cause the locking mechanism to be disengaged.

    摘要: A system for tracking objects includes tracking devices each attached to an object to be tracked and including a short range communications module. A server includes a processor and a memory. A mobile communications device (typically a mobile telephone) includes memory for storing an identification of the mobile device, a long range communication module for communication over a cellular communication network and a short range communications module for receiving short range signals transmitted from tracking devices. The mobile telephone also includes a location determination module to determine the location of the mobile telephone. On receipt of a short range distress signal from a tracking device, a location is obtained from the location module and a signal transmitted to the server including at least the identification of the tracking device, a time of receipt of the short range signal from the tracking device and the determined location of the tracking device when the short range signal was received.

    摘要: A system for alerting a user of a vehicle in an unexpected event. The system comprises a detector for detecting the unexpected event and a recording system comprising at least one camera for continuously recording video information concerning the vehicle. The recording system comprises a circular buffer for storing the video information recorded by the at least one camera and a device for controlling the circular buffer such that when the unexpected event occurs, the recording system only records additional video information to fill approximately one half of the circular buffer so that the circular buffer at least contains video information of before and while the unexpected event to the vehicle is occurring. A communicating device configured for sending the circular buffer, containing the video information of before and while the unexpected event to the vehicle is occurring, to at least one of a server and a mobile device.
