Abstract: A battery module includes a battery cell assembly in which two or more longitudinal unit cells, each of which has electrode leads at both ends in the longitudinal direction arranged in a row in the longitudinal direction, are stacked in two or more columns in the thickness direction of the battery cell; a terminal bus bar coupled to the battery cell; a venting plate installed between the columns of the longitudinal unit cells and having a gas venting channel therein; and a module case configured to accommodate the battery cell assembly and the venting plate. The electrode leads of the adjacent battery cells except for the battery cells coupled to the terminal bus bar are directly connected to each other, and a venting hole communicating with the gas venting channel is provided in the module case.

Abstract: Presented are terminal end caps for pouch-type battery cells, vehicles equipped with rechargeable battery packs containing such pouch cells, and methods for making/using such caps, cells, and/or vehicles. A battery cell assembly includes a cell pouch with flexible pouch walls that are joined along a peripheral seam to define one or more openings at one or both ends of the cell pouch. Located inside the cell pouch is an ion-conducting electrolyte and one or more pairs of working electrodes in electrochemical contact with the electrolyte. Also located inside the cell pouch and interposed between each pair of working electrodes is an electrically isolating separator sheet. A terminal end cap is located in each pouch opening and attached to the flexible pouch walls. Each terminal end cap includes a rigid polymeric cap body with one or more electrical terminals embedded in the cap body and electrically connected at least one electrode.

Abstract: A laminated battery includes battery cells which are laminated and a current collecting lead. Each of the battery cells has a structure in which a positive electrode current collector, a positive electrode active material layer, a solid electrolyte layer, a negative electrode active material layer, and a negative electrode current collector are laminated in this order. The battery cells include first and second battery cells adjacent to each other. At least the second battery cell has a side surface inclined with respect to a laminating direction of the battery cells. The first battery cell has a surface facing the second battery cell and including an exposed surface not in contact with the second battery cell. At least part of the exposed surface overlaps at least part of the side surface of the second battery cell viewed from the laminating direction. The current collecting lead is connected to the exposed surface.

At least one difference between a distance Lcn or a distance Lcn+1 from a second face side edge part of a positive electrode of an nth layer or an n+1th layer to the second face and a difference between a distance Lan or a distance Lan+1 from a first lateral face side edge part of a negative electrode of an nth layer or an n+1th layer to the first lateral faces is 10 μm or more.

Abstract: An electrochemical apparatus includes a first electrode plate and a second electrode plate separated by a separator, and a first tab adhesive and a first electrode plate adhesive. The first electrode plate is provided with a first mounting groove for accommodating the first tab adhesive. The second electrode plate is provided with a second mounting groove on a surface facing the first electrode plate, the first electrode plate adhesive being accommodated in the second mounting groove. With the foregoing structure, the electrochemical apparatus of some embodiments of this application can effectively solve the problem of increased overall thickness of the electrochemical apparatus caused by the provision of the first tab adhesive and the first electrode plate adhesive.

Abstract: Provided is a technique suppressing an electrode assembly inside an outer case from moving in a vertical direction with a simple configuration. An electric storage device includes the electrode assembly, the outer case, a sealing plate, a current collector, and an insulating member. The electrode assembly includes a tab. The outer case includes a bottom surface and an opening opposed to the bottom surface, and is a member accommodating the electrode assembly inside. The sealing plate covers the opening. The current collector is attached to the sealing plate, and is electrically connected to the electrode assembly via the tab. The insulating member is arranged between the sealing plate and the current collector. In addition, the insulating member includes an extension part configured to extend toward the electrode assembly so as to press the electrode assembly onto the bottom surface.
