    摘要: The present application provides a method for measuring coking propensity of a fossil fuel, comprising mixing an iron powder with a fossil fuel, wherein the iron powder has an average particle size of less than or equal to 100 μm; reacting the iron powder with the fossil fuel at a temperature and a pressure sufficient to allow coking for a period of time; separating a supernatant and a solid product after said coking; and analyzing the solid product for carbon content, wherein the carbon content is proportional to the coking propensity. There is also provided is a method for measuring effectiveness of a coking inhibitor.

The method of the invention is based on calculating the components in the red, green and blue transmission spectral bands IRO, IGo and IBo of the unused oil, carrying out a number of measurements of the transmittance of the same oil after use, calculating the colour indices of the used oil and the reference colour index as CI=1×IR+0.5×IG+0.5IBCIREF=1×IRO0.5×IGO+0.5IBO and obtaining the overall degradation value as OD(%)=100−100×log10(CIREF/CI). By virtue of the method and the corresponding device, real-time monitoring of oil degradation is facilitated.

A second input receives an analysis parameter threshold value for the used lubricant at the end of a service interval and stores the analysis parameter threshold value in a memory of the processor. A determiner predicts a future analysis parameter value of the used lubricant at the end of the service interval based on the analysis parameter value, and the analysis parameter threshold value.
