Both the transmit arm and the receive arm each define a series of through-hole resonators. Present on the core of dielectric material is a surface-layer pattern of metallized and unmetallized areas. The pattern includes a wide area of metallization for providing off-band signal absorption, a first unmetallized area surrounding a plurality of the through-hole openings of the transmit arm, a second contiguous unmetallized area surrounding a plurality of the through-hole openings of the receiver arm, a transmitter pad metallized area on the transmit arm, a receiver pad metallized area on the receive arm, and an antenna pad metallized area.

The substrate is located between the seat bottom and the vehicle floor. Strain gauge resistors are located on the substrate for generating an electrical signal in response to the substrate being stressed by the weight of the seat occupant. The electrical signal changes as a function of the weight of the seat occupant. Several mounting configurations to the vehicle seat are shown.

    摘要: A fuel level indicator system that utilizes a resistor card having an arc-shaped resistive path with a first set of spaced apart conductor lines and an arc-shaped resistive ink material overlying the first set of conductor lines. The first conductor lines are formed at an angle with respect to a radial line drawn from the center of the resistive path arc. The resistor card also has an arc-shaped continuously solid conductor base and a second set of spaced apart conductor lines extending from the base at an angle with respect to a radial line drawn from the center of the arc-shaped conductor base. The system includes a wiper assembly having a pair of spaced apart arms. Each arm has a plurality of parallel fingers extending from one end. One of the fingers on a first arm engages a conductor line on the resistive path and a second finger on the first arm engages an adjacent conductor line along the resistive path. A first finger on the second arm engages a conductive line on the conductive path; and a second finger engages an adjacent conductor line on the conductive path. The wiper assembly is constructed and arranged to provide rotational movement along the arc-shaped conductive path and arc-shaped resistive path. The system also has a float with an extending lever that is connected to the wiper assembly to produce rotational movement of the wiper assembly as the float moves.

    摘要: A pointing stick 10 for controlling the positioning, movement and operation of a cursor 209 on the display screen 213. The pointing stick 10 includes a solid structure 20 having a base 24 and a shaft 22 integrally formed with and perpendicular to the base. A film 30 is mounted on the base and a sensor 32 is mounted on the film. The sensor is capable of sensing strains on the base that are indicative of the direction that the shaft is being forced. The sensor functions by using strain sensitive resistors that change resistance based upon the amount of strain that they are subject to. The strain sensitive resistors are coupled to circuitry that will produce signals in response to the strain on the gages. The resulting signals are used to either control the movement of the cursor around the display screen, or to do what is commonly called "clicking" a mouse button for selection of items or dragging of items on the display screen. A cavity 26 may be placed on the base and located circumferentially around the shaft. The recessed area or cavity area may be more flexible than the remaining base structure and typically the film having a sensor mounted thereon may be bonded to the side of the base opposite the cavity. The pointing stick may be used on a keyboard having a home-row of keys locating fingers of a user during typing. The pointing stick can be used to select an item on a display screen or move a cursor or similar object on the display screen using only one finger of one hand. During this time the remaining fingers of both hands may reside inactive on the home-row of keys.

A heater is mounted to the substrate to elevate the oscillator temperature and a temperature sensor is mounted to the substrate to monitor and control the oscillator temperature. The substrate is surrounded by an insulation and mounted within a housing. The housing has a connection means for connecting to an external electrical circuit.

A passivation layer is located between the capacitors. Several solder spheres are electrically and mechanically connected to the bottom electrode. A resistor can be mounted on the top surface and connected to the via to form a filter.

This includes a step (104) of measuring the operating frequency of the VCO. A following step (106) includes calculating an amount of frequency shift needed to achieve a desired frequency. A following step (108) matches the amount of frequency shift needed to values in a look-up table of frequency shifts versus via locations to determine which vias locations will provide the proper amount of frequency shift. A last step (110) includes mechanically disconnecting from ground the via locations indicated in the third step such that the desired frequency is achieved. This method (100) of tuning allows VCO frequency adjustment after final assembly avoiding problems of frequency shifts that can occur due to the placement of a metal lid on the circuit board after assembly.

    摘要: A pointing stick for controlling the positioning, movement and operation of a cursor on the display screen. Strain gages 30 are mounted on the sides of the stick 12 and are made of pressure sensitive strips 32, for electrically changing the resistance of the material in response to the amount of strain applied thereto. A conductive contact bridge 34 for electrically connecting the two strips 32, and conductive contact pads 36 for making electrical contact to electronic circuitry (not shown) are also mounted on the sides of the stick 12. The stick 12 extends through a hole 38 in the base 4 in a Z-axis oriented direction 39, and is held in place by an adhesive bond epoxy 40. Cable 18 is positioned within cavity 16 and adhesively bonded to the cavity wall via adhesive 42. Cable 18 has electrical traces 44 and input/output (I/O) pads 46 mounted thereon. Contact pads 36 are bonded to I/O pads 46 by any suitable bond material 50.

Filter 200 contains a filter body with a block of dielectric material having a top surface 202, a bottom surface 204, and side surfaces 206, 208, 210 and 212 respectively. Filter 200 also has a plurality of metallized through-holes 214 extending from the top surface 202 to the bottom surface 204 defining resonators. Each of the resonators has a corresponding plurality of embedded receptacles 220, which contain an unmetallized area therein, adjacent to the plurality of metallized through-holes 214, providing a ring of isolation 222. A recessed channel 224 extends perpendicularly across each of the plurality of embedded receptacles 220 and has a groove 226 therein which is complementarily configured to receive a metallic shield 228. The metallic shield 228 is disposed in the recessed channel 224 and is connected to the metallization layer of the plurality of embedded receptacles 220. The metallic shield 228 is attached to the dielectric block with a design that reduces the size and volume of the filter 200.
