    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a first UE determine a sidelink positioning reference signal (PRS) pattern for a sidelink position estimation procedure, the sidelink PRS pattern including at least one PRS transmission occasion for each of a group of UEs on a shared communication medium, and performs one or more attempts to transmit a first PRS on one or more PRS transmission occasions associated with the first UE in accordance with the sidelink PRS pattern. In another aspects, a second UE determines the sidelink PRS pattern, and monitors a first PRS transmission occasion for receipt of a first PRS from a first UE in accordance with the sidelink PRS pattern.

    Abstract: A ranging session between multiple user equipments (UEs) is initiated using an initial message that includes identifiers (IDs) for the initiating UE and each of one or more responder UEs. Each UE in the ranging session independently determines the timing instances of the signaling for each UE in the ranging session based on the UE IDs in the initial message. Signaling information, such as identifiers for the ranging signals, may likewise be independent determined by each UE based on the UE IDs. The order of UE IDs and number of responder UEs provided in the initial message may also be used to determine the timing instances of signaling and signaling information. The UEs, for example, may use a common multivariable deterministic function with the UE IDs as inputs to each separately derive the timing instance for itself and the other UEs in the ranging session.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a vulnerable road user (VRU) user equipment (UE) indicates to a user whether a current position accuracy is sufficient or insufficient for approaching vehicles to determine if they present a hazard to the VRU. The position accuracy may be based on an accuracy threshold that is configured at the UE, such as by a serving base station or a road side unit (RSU). The accuracy threshold may be configured via common or dedicated signaling, through application-layer signaling, or may be pre-configured in the UE. When the VRU UE position accuracy exceeds the specified threshold for a particular interval of time, the UE may inform the user that approaching vehicles will be unable to determine their location with enough accuracy to take evasive maneuvers.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) (e.g., a vehicle, low-power sensor) may identify that the UE satisfies a set of conditions for a stationary state. The stationary state may be associated with a configuration for transmitting a position message (e.g., a basic safety message (BSM)) while the UE satisfies the stationary state. The UE may identify a periodicity at which to transmit the position message based on the UE satisfying the set of conditions for the stationary state, where the periodicity associated with a stationary state may be larger than a periodicity associated with a non-stationary state. The UE may transmit (e.g., broadcast) the position message over a sidelink in accordance with the configuration and based on identifying that the UE satisfies the set of conditions for the stationary state.
