摘要: A sampler system for water contaminants. The sampler system includes an adsorptive sampler housed within a cylindrical enclosure, which has a top face, a bottom face and a cylindrical surface. The cylindrical surface of the sampler system is fluid-permeable. A cable connects the top face of the cylindrical enclosure to a flotation device. A spring connects the adsorptive sampler to the bottom face of the cylindrical enclosure. The adsorptive sampler includes a housing having a cavity and an adsorptive material disposed inside the cavity. The housing is attached to the spring and includes a front face and a back face. The spring is a cantilever in the form of a rigid film, wherein the rigid film is connected to the bottom face of the cylindrical enclosure along a flat edge of the rigid film.

摘要: New carbon nanomaterials, preferably titanium carbide-derived carbon (CDC) nanoparticles, were embedded into a polyamide film to give CDC/polyamide mixed matrix membranes by the interfacial polymerization reaction of an aliphatic diamine, e.g., piperazine, and an activated aromatic dicarboxylate, e.g., isophthaloyl chloride, supported on a sulfone-containing polymer, e.g., polysulfone (PSF), layer, which is preferably previously prepared by dry/wet phase inversion. The inventive membranes can separate CO2 (or other gases) from mixtures of CO2 and further gases, esp. CH4, based upon the generally selective nanocomposite layer(s) of CDC/polyamide.

摘要: A surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-active electrode include a solid support; a porous oxide layer containing transition metal oxide nanoparticles present on a surface of the solid support and has a mean pore size of 2 to 30 nm; and at least one of noble metal nanoneedles and noble metal nanorings present on the porous oxide layer. The noble metal nanoneedles have an average length of 350-800 nm, a flat end with an average width in a range of 100-150 nm, and a pointed end. The noble metal nanorings have a thickness of 50-300 nm and are present in the form of annular clusters having various elliptical shapes with an average diameter in a range of 35-60 nm.

The laser rangefinder includes a laser configured to emit a pulsed laser beam, an afocal Gallilean telescope configured to receive backscattered laser pulses and generate a series of focused backscattered laser pulses, a silicon avalanche photodetector connected to the afocal Gallilean telescope, configured to generate a series of currents signal proportional to the series of focused backscattered laser pulses, a low noise, multistage amplifier connected to the silicon avalanche photodetector, configured to generate a series of linearly changing amplified voltage signals from the series of current signals, an analog-to-digital converter configured to convert the series of linearly changing amplified voltage signals to a series of digital voltage signals, and a digital counting and display circuit connected to the analog-digital converter.
