摘要: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for correlating one or more service areas of a network with one or more geolocation coordinates to determine available services for customers to the network. A service polygon may be generated that define an area in which a particular service offered by a communications network is available. The boundaries of the service polygons may be adjusted based on information corresponding to physical features of the initial area. The service polygons may aid a communications network in providing a list of available services to potential customers or devices connected to the network by determining one or more geolocation coordinate values of a potential connection site and comparing the values to the service polygons. A network management system may determine the available services, current or in the future, to offer such services to a customer to the network.

摘要: A transmitter can include a laser operable to output an optical signal; a digital signal processor operable to receive user data and provide electrical signals based on the data; and a modulator operable to modulate the optical signal to provide optical subcarriers based on the electrical signals. A first one of the subcarriers carriers carries first TDMA encoded information and second TDMA encoded information, such that the first TDMA encoded information is indicative of a first portion of the data and is carried by the first one of the subcarriers during a first time slot, and the second TDMA encoded information is indicative of a second portion of the data and is carried by the first one of the subcarriers during a second time slot. The first TDMA encoded information is associated with a first node remote from the transmitter and the second TDMA encoded information is associated with a second node remote from the transmitter. A second one of the subcarriers carries third information that is not TDMA encoded, the third information being associated with a third node remote from the transmitter. A receiver and system also are described.

摘要: Optical network systems and components are disclosed, including a transmitter comprising a digital signal processor that receives data; circuitry that generate a plurality of electrical signals based on the data; a plurality of filters, each of which receiving a corresponding one of the plurality of electrical signals, a plurality of roll-off factors being associated with a respective one of the plurality of filters; a plurality of DACs that receive outputs from the digital signal processor, the outputs being indicative of outputs from the plurality of filters; a laser that supplies light; and a modulator that receives the light and outputs from the DACs, and supplies a plurality of optical subcarriers based on the outputs, such that one of the optical subcarriers has a frequency bandwidth that is wider than remaining ones of the optical subcarriers, said one of the optical subcarriers carrying information for clock recovery.

摘要: A system for monitoring voice services has a service monitor that is configured to periodically assess the registration state of a voice service provided to a customer. If the service transitions to an unregistered state, the service monitor logs the state change and continues to monitor the service to determine approximately when the service transitions back to a registered state. Thus, over time, the service monitor tracks loss-of-registration (LOR) events and analyzes the history of such LOR events to determine when they are indicative of a network or service problem that warrants further analysis or attention by a user. Using these techniques, the service monitor may be able to detect and, in some cases, diagnose problems that are degrading voices services for one or more customers even before such customers realize that their services are degraded.

Both N and M are positive integers greater than 1. The optical switch network includes one or more optical switches. A plurality of optical paths are configured in the optical switch network. When the transmitter communicates with the receiver, the transmitter can determine, from the plurality of optical paths, a target optical path from a source communication node to a destination communication node. After the optical switch network receives a target optical signal sent by the transmitter, the optical switch directly sends the target optical signal to the receiver based on the target optical path.

摘要: Systems and methods for performing a Control Plane Triggered (CPT) Optical Protection Switching (OPS) policy are provided. A method, according to one implementation, includes performing a first route switching procedure for switching routes between an originating node and a terminating node. The first route switching procedure is configured to operate at a first priority level according to an Optical Protection Switching (OPS) policy. The method also includes performing a second route switching procedure for switching routes between the originating node and the terminating node. The second route switching procedure is configured to operate at a second priority level according to a second protection policy, wherein the second priority level is higher than the first priority level. Also, the method includes reverting back to a home path according to the first route switching procedure after one or more faults, defects, or degradations have been cleared from the home path.

The method includes: determining a reference position and a delivery cycle value of reception of the OAM information block; determining an expected reception position of a next OAM information block according to the reference position and the delivery cycle value, determining an effective reception range according to the expected reception position, and extracting an OAM information block in a client service code block stream within the effective reception range; and synchronizing a sequence relationship of the OAM information blocks according to the type and a sorting result of the extracted OAM information blocks, and extracting content of the OAM information blocks after synchronization so as to monitor the service quality of a carrying pipeline.

摘要: Mapping of ports to other network components is generated by physically bending a fiber optic cable and then determining which optical network terminals experience a signal power loss (or receive attenuated signals) based on the bending. The physical bending can be done using a bending tool and the optical network terminals that experience the signal power loss can be identified using a back-end database operation. Generally, the correspondence between the physical bending and the power loss at the downstream components and or upstream components of the network is used to create the mapping of the ports at the splitter level.
