摘要: This invention provides a three-function control mechanism that employs a single control lever for controlling a first, a second and a third actuator and which may be used in connection with a bulldozer. The control mechanism includes a control bracket, a control lever, and first, second, third, and fourth bellcranks supported by the control bracket. The control mechanism further includes first, second, and third linkage that interconnect the control lever, through the bellcranks, to respective ones of the first, second, and third actuators. Due to the supporting arrangement of the control lever, bellcranks, and linkage, the control lever may be moved forward or backward, twisted clockwise or counterclockwise, or moved side to side either separately or in unison. In doing so the control lever thereby respectively actuates the first, second, and third actuators.

摘要: A kinesthetic feedback apparatus and method whereby braking forces are imposed on a hand-movable lever. The lever is either a joystick or a uniplanar lever, and the braking forces are imposed by a friction plate being pressed against a portion of the lever by a length of magnetostrictive material. An electromagnetic coil around the magnetostrictive material receives a signal from a remote apparatus driven by movement of the lever. The magnitude of the signal is a function of the resistive forces encountered by the remote apparatus so that the braking forces are directly proportional to the resistive forces thereby providing kinesthetic feedback to the person operating the lever.

摘要: A Hall-effect control apparatus incorporating an actuator member having a magnetic core, and which is pivotally mounted on a base for movement in X-axis and Y-axis directions. An electrically energized coil excited with a. c. voltage produces a fluctuating magnetic field in the vicinity of the core. Four Hall-effect sensors are mounted on the base, and are arranged to sense changes in the a. c. field as the core member moves. The output of the Hall-effect sensors is both d. c. and a. c.; an electrical circuit connected therewith processes these voltages so as to cancel out any d. c. components thereof. The output of the electrical circuit in turn provides two voltages which are indicative of the X-axis and the Y-axis positions of the actuator member. The device is immune to interruption arising from d. c. fields, such as that of the earth; also significant immunity against error due to temperature fluctuations is realizeable, as is immunity to error arising from aging of the various components. There is thus achieved improved accuracy and linearity as compared to the various devices of the prior art.

摘要: The invention relates to an arrangement for damping shifting movements in a mechanical, synchronized multispeed transmission. Where such shifting movements are performed with the aid of a servo-mechanism, for exmaple a pneumatic piston cylinder unit, there is the risk that the gear teeth will be damaged when brought into engagement with each other. In the arrangement according to the invention, a pressure medium-filled damper is used without any communication with a separate pressure medium reservoir, thus eliminating the risk of malfunction due to foam formation in the pressure medium as well as achieving a desirable damping of the shifting movement. The invention is characterized for this purpose in that the piston in the damper is arranged on a piston rod which extends through the cylinder portion of the damper, so that upon relative movement between the piston and the cylinder portion, the volume of the damper filled with pressure medium remains constant.

摘要: An electric shift apparatus for controlling a motor vehicle manual transmission. The apparatus includes a power module adapted to be bolted to the housing of the transmission, a control module adapted to be positioned in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, and a gear selector assembly positioned on the steering column assembly of the vehicle. The operator selects a transmission position by movement of an appropriate gear lever on the steering column, a signal corresponding to the selected position is transmitted to the control module, the control module compares this signal to a signal provided by limit switches in the power module indicating the instantaneous position of the transmission, and the control module generates a signal to the power module coded to impart the specific combination and sequence of crossover and shift movements to the transmission select lever required to move the select lever from its indicated crossover and shift position to the crossover and shift positions corresponding to the operator selected position. The required linear movement of the shift lever is provided by a ball screw assembly powered by a first electric motor and the required angular or crossover movement of the select lever is provided by a speed reduction unit driven by a second electric motor.

摘要: In order to more easily control movement of a vehicle such as a tractor, an operator's left hand can twist a directional actuating member or a juxtaposed speed actuating member about an outstanding axis. These actuating members are rotatably mounted on a tiller arm extending radially from a housing assembly so that the operator can simultaneously use the actuating members and steer the vehicle by pushing or pulling the tiller arm and rotating the housing assembly in the desired direction about an upstanding axis. Push-pull controls are associated with each actuating member and protected within the housing assembly. A bearing assembly guidably supports and permits relative angular movement of each of the push-pull controls to prevent twisting thereof when the housing assembly is rotated.
