摘要: A neutralization/water separation device for an esterified product including: a neutralization tank in which a crude product mixture containing alcohol and an ester compound, a neutralizing agent, and water are put to produce a neutralized mixture; a water separation tank disposed below the neutralization tank to divide the neutralization mixture into a floating layer and an aqueous layer; a partition wall extending downward from a ceiling of the water separation tank to provide a lower passage in the water separation tank; and a transfer line that transfers the neutralized mixture from the neutralization tank to the water separation tank, where the water separation tank includes: a first water separation part into which the neutralized mixture is introduced from the neutralization tank through the transfer line; and a second water separation part into which the neutralized mixture is introduced from the first water separation part through the lower passage, where the first water separation part and the second water separation part are partitioned by the partition wall.

摘要: A method and system for buoyant separation of a target constituent of a sample, the method comprising: at a process chamber, combining a volume of substrates having a first density with the sample, thereby producing a population of target-bound complexes comprising the target constituent bound to at least a portion of the volume of substrates; within the process chamber, physically separating the population of target-bound complexes from the sample based upon interaction between the volume of substrates and an applied force; aggregating the population of target-bound complexes at a collection region of the process chamber; extracting the population of target-bound complexes from the process chamber; and processing the target constituent from the population of target-bound complexes for further analysis.

摘要: A floating liquid intake for a liquid suction removal system, the liquid intake comprising housing defining an internal cavity. The housing has a hollow and buoyant annular body, an upper cover and a lower cover. The internal cavity is formed between the upper and lower covers. A substantially annular inlet is formed in the annular body for ingress of liquid into the cavity. The annular body has a buoyancy sufficient for the liquid intake to float in a liquid with the annular inlet submerged below the surface of the liquid in which the liquid intake is floating. A pipe extends into the cavity and the pipe includes an inlet that in use is open below the surface of the liquid within the cavity. The pipe extends outside of the cavity for connection to a liquid suction removal system.

摘要: A nozzle is provided for a header conduit. The nozzle includes an inlet that is resistant to clogs caused by flat materials covering the inlet. The inlet generally includes multiple pathways to an elongated passageway through which waste liquid and sludge (“waste”) are guided and enter the header conduit. In one embodiment, the elongated passageway is oriented to guide the waste along a path that is tangential to at least the inner surface of the header conduit which such incoming waste first contacts. When the conduit has an inner surface of circular cross-section, the passageway may optionally be elongated enough that the incoming waste enters the header conduit along a path tangential to the circular surface. To better assure axial flow of the waste in the conduit to an outlet, in one embodiment the passageway provides both the tangential flow and is at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis of the conduit. The incoming waste is thereby provided with an axial component. In this manner, the passageway assures that the energy and momentum of the incoming waste is helical in direction. The waste previously admitted into the header conduit is urged by the newly entering waste to continue to flow helically in the conduit. The passageways are provided at spaced intervals along the length of the conduit to collect sludge from a wide area of the bottom of the basin. Because of the tangential orientation of each of the passageways and the resulting initial tangential flow of the incoming waste, the waste incoming from each of those multiple passageways reinforces the existing helical flow of waste in the conduit.

摘要: Various examples are provided for systems and apparatus for separation of particulate matter from fluid. In one example, an apparatus has a first wall and a second wall connected to and separated by an end edge wall and one or more side edge walls. The first wall has a fluid outlet. The apparatus has a separation chamber with a volume defined by the first wall, the second wall, the end edge wall, and the one or more side edge walls. Each of the side edge walls extends from a respective end of the end edge wall. The side edge walls taper from the end edge wall to a fluid exchange port, to guide contaminants or other particulate matter out the fluid exchange port.
