摘要: A remote sensing-based dynamic estimation method for the outflow process of an ungauged free overflow reservoir comprising the following steps: estimating the storage volumes of the water reservoir at different water levels from the water level-area relation curve of the water reservoir by using a digital elevation model, and thereby establishing an area-storage volume relation curve of the water reservoir; obtaining the storage volumes of the water reservoir at the corresponding times; obtaining the change of the storage volume of the water reservoir through accumulative calculation on the change of the storage volume in the time periods corresponding to the two remote sensing images; gradually approximating an outflow coefficient of the water reservoir by using a bisection method; taking the final approximation result as the outflow coefficient of the ungauged reservoir, and calculating the outflow process of the water reservoir during floods.

摘要: An air infiltration system for a hydroelectric plant includes a spillway gate and a linearized cone valve coupled to the spillway gate, the linearized cone valve having a pivotable plate assembly. The spillway gate may be a tainter or Stoney gate and the pivotable plate assembly may have a deflection plate. A method of infiltrating air in water released from an impoundment may include: lifting a spillway gate from a resting position proximate a bottom of a spillway; and pivoting a deflection plate coupled to the gate proximate the bottom of the spillway; wherein water flows through an opening disposed between the deflection plate and the gate and is sprayed into an atmosphere to be oxygenated.

摘要: A water leveling and filtering system having a guard. The guard includes a sleeve or gate to provides for the flow of water through a drainage opening. The guard includes a floatation means. The guard floats and rises along the elongate path of the drain pipe or drain opening as the water level rises, thereby preventing debris from entering the top of the pipe. The guard includes openings therein that continue to allow water to enter the overflow pipe when the water rises while protecting the opening to the drainage system from debris entering.

摘要: A gate is provided with a barrier capable of retaining water with a central barrier wall that is inclined in a direction away from the water, a bottom structure beneath the water that is capable of delimiting by a weir a bottom chamber filled with air and holding the barrier in its water retaining position by the water pressure exercised on said bottom structure, and an inlet extending beyond the retaining level of the barrier with an upper opening that allows water to flood the bottom chamber so as to offset the water pressure on the bottom structure and thereby allow a tipping of the gate, wherein a wall structure forms a wall chamber on the central barrier wall, wherein the wall chamber is capable of being flooded so as to assist the tipping of the gate.

摘要: This invention relates to a novel water ballasted wave attenuator that can be used to diminish or eliminate the impact of waves on shorelines or objects located in or on water bodies. A water ballasted wave attenuator comprising: (a) a hollow shell formed of reinforced concrete; (b) a flotation medium disposed in the upper region of the interior of the reinforced concrete shell (a); (c) an air chamber disposed below the flotation medium (b) in the lower region of the interior of the reinforced concrete shell; and, (d) at least one water vent located in the interior of the reinforced concrete shell (a), said vent connecting the interior of the shell with the exterior of the shell.

摘要: A system for controllably adjusting spent water levels in the tailrace pool area of a hydroelectric power-generating dam installed into a waterway. The system comprises: (a) a controllably adjustable weir device installed into a downstream portion of the waterway adjacent a distal end of the tailrace pool area. The controllably adjustable weir device is configured for controllably impeding egress of spent water from the tailrace pool area, (b) an apparatus provided with operative components configured for manipulating the controllably adjustable weir device to controllably increase and decrease the impediment therewith of spent water egress from the tailrace pool area. The operative components are serviceable from above the spent water, and (c) a control device configured for communicating and cooperating with the apparatus for manipulating the controllably adjustable weir therewith. The controllably adjustable weir device may be optionally installed into an excavation provided downstream adjacent to the tailrace pool area.

摘要: The system includes a plurality of flood plains. Each flood plain contains a plurality of plants and each plant is held in a pot. The flood plains are excavated at different elevations from an upper most elevation to a lower most elevation. The flood plains are sequentially flooded for a resident time period with a selected volume of water directed from a water source. As the flood plains are excavated to different elevations, gravity, and a series of flood gates, control the water flow from one flood plain to a next lower flood plain. Each flood plain has a top surface and an underlying bed comprising a soil and clay composition. The surface of each bed is contoured to adequately drain water from one flood plain to the next. This clay mixture firms the bed to adequately support vehicles and laborers to prevent depressions in the bed which may adversely affect water flow in and out of a flood plain. Each of the flood plains is lined with a water impermeable membrane. The flood plains are also contoured to effectively drain water from one flood plain to the next. A water reclamation system is connected to the irrigation system. Water drained from the flood plains is collected in a retention pond and pumped to a holding pond. The water in the holding pond or reservoir is used to flood the irrigation field.

摘要: For the purpose of effecting a quasi-permanent raising of the normal water level of an impounded reservoir and thereby augmenting its storage capacity except during the passage of major floods, the invention consists of installing on the sill of the spillway a water level raising means comprising at least one heavy element, the said means or water level raising elements being capable of resisting the water loads when spilling moderate heads (for discharging the floods of shorter recurrence intervals) by virtue of their own weight but breaching by overturning at a predetermined head corresponding to a level not higher than a predetermined maximum water level in order to discharge larger floods.
