Abstract: A liquid reservoir for use in a toilet seat assembly having a presence sensor configured to detect a presence of a user includes a housing, a heating member, a temperature sensor, and a level sensor. The housing has a base portion, a cover portion, an inlet, and an outlet, and the housing is configured to contain a liquid. The temperature sensor is configured to detect a temperature of liquid within the housing. The level sensor is configured to detect an amount of the liquid within the housing. The heating member is configured to heat the liquid contained in the housing upon the presence sensor of the toilet seat assembly detecting the presence of the user.

Abstract: TopSink is an automatic drainage device that includes a floatable funnel with a flexible discharge line connected to a discharge port on an interior of a barrel. The funnel rises with the level of the collected water and or rain until it nears the barrel's maximum capacity, when it is triggered to sink and drain out a predetermined volume of water. As the funnel sinks it continues to drain water until it is caught by at least two predetermined depth adjustable rods. The catch rods establish how much water is drained from the barrel each time capacity is reached. Water or rain continues to drain from the TopSink until the water or rain level gets to the level of the catch rods. Upon further water or rain collection, the funnel begins to float again on the surface of the water, until capacity is reached again.

Abstract: A liquid level control system employs a flap gate for discharging liquid, but with a midstream headloss inducing device between the basin or tank and the flap gate. The flap gate opens when liquid level in the basin rises, and the opening of the gate is controlled by a counterweight positioned so as to decrease closing force as the gate opens farther, thus managing the outflow of liquid to efficiently return the basin to a design level. If flow from the basin is generally constant, the system will reach a point of equilibrium of gate opening and closing forces while liquid flows out from the basin.

Abstract: Methods and systems for remotely monitoring and controlling holding tank subsystems. One system includes an electronic processor communicatively coupled to a memory. Abstract: An extended term hydroponic cultivation apparatus and method provide a growth environment for a plant to develop an oxygen root structure and a water root structure as the plant matures. The root structure of the plant is carried in a growth chamber containing an initial water level with an air gap defined above the water level for development of the oxygen root structure in the air gap. Water root structure development progresses downwardly to a bottom of the growth chamber as the plant consumes water contained within the system until reaching a terminal growth length in a terminal water level. A float valve maintains the water in the system at the terminal water level to sustain plant growth for an extended temporal duration. A drain valve allows for evacuation of water for replenishment with a fresh source of water to the terminal water level.

Abstract: In a fuel supply device including a regulator and float-type level sensor, a fitting tube is formed integrally with an upper housing, a fuel pump being retained between the upper and lower housings. An outer periphery of a base part of the regulator is fitted into the tube. A regulator retaining member is formed as a separate member from the upper housing and retains the regulator in cooperation with the tube. The tube and the retaining member are joined via a snap-fit join part provided on fitting parts therebetween. The snap-fit join part is formed by engaging a projecting portion or a recess part, formed on an elastic piece provided on one of the fitting parts between the retaining member and the tube, with the recess part or the projecting portion formed on the other fitting part. A sensor support arm is molded as a unit with the retaining member.

Abstract: A float valve (10) is provided for use with a liquid medium, the float valve having an upright configuration and an inverted configuration. The float valve includes: a housing (12), defining at least one inlet port (20) and at least one outlet port (24); a float assembly (60) movable within the housing; and an auxiliary float member (50) movable within said housing. The float assembly (60) comprises a primary float member (70; 70′), different from the auxiliary float member, and a spring element (80). The primary in float member is configured for closing the at least one outlet port when in abutment therewith, the spring element being configured for providing a biasing spring force to the primary float member in a direction towards said at least one outlet port. The auxiliary float member is configured for providing a net upthrust force with respect to the liquid medium under submerged conditions irrespective of whether the float valve is in said upright configuration or in said inverted configuration.

Abstract: An oil tank for a gas turbine engine includes a top and a bottom disposed vertically beneath the top. An overfill return passage extends from the bottom of the oil tank toward the top of the oil tank. An outlet is formed on the bottom of the oil tank and inside the overfill return passage. A check valve is inside the overfill return passage and is connected to the outlet. The check valve includes a seat circumscribing the outlet and a plug inside the overfill return passage. The plug has a lower density than an oil disposed inside the oil tank. The check valve does not include a spring such that the plug is configured to translate freely inside the overfill return passage.
