Abstract: Examples of the present application disclose a medication delivery apparatus comprising a first plunger, a second plunger and a container configured to receive the second plunger and at least a portion of the first plunger. The container and the second plunger define a dilution chamber that is configured to receive a diluent. The container defines a dilution chamber opening. The first plunger, the container and the second plunger define an active agent chamber that is configured to receive a pharmaceutical preparation. The second plunger comprises a one-way valve configured to control a flow of pharmaceutical preparation from the active agent chamber to the dilution chamber. The one-way valve is configured to move from a closed position to an open position upon application of a force exceeding a valve threshold force to an inlet side of the valve. The valve threshold force is less than a sum of a break loose force of the second plunger and a break loose force of the first plunger.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are disclosed for a flow rate algorithm that utilizes changes in fluid pressure over a set time interval to calculate a true flow rate compared to a programmed flow rate, determine any over-delivery or un-der-delivery in the amount of fluid delivered over the set time interval, compensate for any determined over-delivery or under-delivery in the fluid flow rate over a subsequent set time interval, and repeat the flow rate algorithm for a series of subsequent set time intervals over the duration of a fluid injection procedure.

Abstract: A wearable infusion pump assembly includes a reservoir for receiving an infusible fluid, and an external infusion set configured to deliver the infusible fluid to a user. A fluid delivery system is configured to deliver the infusible fluid from the reservoir to the external infusion set. The fluid delivery system includes a volume sensor assembly, and a pump assembly for extracting a quantity of infusible fluid from the reservoir and providing the quantity of infusible fluid to the volume sensor assembly. The volume sensor assembly is configured to determine the volume of at least a portion of the quantity of fluid. The fluid delivery system further includes at least one optical sensor assembly configured to sense the movement of the pump assembly, a first valve assembly configured to selectively isolate the pump assembly from the reservoir, and a second valve assembly configured to selectively isolate the volume sensor assembly from the external infusion set.

Abstract: Disclosed are examples for a system for drug delivery and components thereof. The system may include an on-body pump device and a secondary unit. The on-body pump device may include a reservoir and a fluid pathway. The reservoir may be configured to hold a liquid drug. The secondary unit may be removably coupled to the on-body pump device. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for injecting one or more agents into tissue within a patient's body. In one embodiment, an injection device includes a substantially axially incompressible elongate member including a lumen extending between proximal and distal ends thereof. A distal stop is provided on the distal end and a needle tip extends distally beyond the distal stop, the needle tip having a cross-section smaller than the distal end. The needle tip includes a passage communicating between the lumen and an outlet in the distal tip that has having a cross-section smaller than the lumen. In an exemplary embodiment, the elongate member includes a coil extending between the proximal and distal ends, and a sleeve disposed within an interior region of the coil extending between the proximal and distal ends. The sleeve defines the lumen and may be free-floating within at least a portion of the coil.

Abstract: A safety quick-refill compact pump for administering drugs is provided. The pump includes a motor-driven electromechanical actuator, a cylindrical container, and a hollow piercing element. The actuator causes bi-directional axial sliding of a rod that carries a pusher adapted to cause axial sliding of a plunger of the container which contains a liquid drug and is equipped, at an end thereof, with a pierceable membrane. The actuator is provided with a first connecting portion of a male-female connecting joint at least partially surrounding the rod. The container is provided with a second connecting portion of the male-female connecting joint and is firmly associated with the actuator and defines a cylindrical chamber axially extending about the sliding axis of the rod. The piercing element is oriented toward the inside of the chamber and defines a duct so that the piercing element is in fluid communication with the inside of the reservoir.

Abstract: A pump includes a reservoir, a port, and a plunger. The reservoir delivers a liquid by discharging the liquid through the port coupled to the reservoir. A piston of the plunger defines a liquid side of the reservoir and a non-liquid side of the reservoir whereby movement of the plunger towards the liquid side of the reservoir discharges liquid through the port. The pump also includes a reference-volume assembly and/or a linear position sensor. The reference-volume assembly is coupled to the reservoir at an opposite end of the reservoir relative to the port and includes a reference-volume chamber in acoustic communication with the non-liquid side of the reservoir, a speaker disposed within the reference-volume chamber, and a reference microphone disposed within the reference-volume chamber. The pump estimate the amount of liquid discharged from the reservoir.
