    摘要: Disclosed is a power supply that automatically switches between a voltage regulation mode and an over current protection mode, as needed. The power supply includes a voltage regulator that generates a first control voltage for applying to the control terminal of a pass transistor during a voltage regulation mode to maintain an output voltage at a desired voltage level. The power supply includes a current limiter that generates a second control voltage for applying to the control terminal of the pass transistor during an over current protection mode to prevent an output current from rising above a maximum output current limit. The power supply includes additional circuitry that detects when over current protection is required and automatically switches the control voltage applied to the control terminal from the first control voltage to the second control voltage or vice versa, as necessary. Also disclosed is an associated power supply method.

The output circuit generates an output signal, and includes: a termination resistor, transmitting the output signal; a data processing circuit, driven by the driving voltage and adjusting a level of a node according to first and second data signals; a pre-emphasis circuit, transmitting a supply voltage to the node according to a control signal to adjust a transition edge of the output signal; a voltage protection circuit, providing an overvoltage protection according to a bias voltage, and coupling the node to the termination resistor. The data processing circuit, the pre-emphasis circuit, and the voltage protection circuit include at least one transistor, and a highest level of the output signal is higher than a withstand voltage of the at least one transistor.

    摘要: A current-balanced voltage source may include two regulated voltage sources, each having an input and an output, and an amplifier to receive a control voltage at a positive input and a feedback voltage at a negative input. The output of each amplifier is coupled to the input of the respective regulated voltage source. The outputs of the regulated voltage sources are coupled together to source a current to a load. A differential amplifier may include positive and negative differential inputs, and positive and negative differential outputs. The positive differential input is coupled to the output of the first regulated voltage source and the negative differential input is coupled to the output of the second regulated voltage source. The positive differential output provides the feedback to the first regulated voltage source, and the negative differential output provides the feedback to the second regulated voltage source.

    摘要: A voltage regulator receives an input voltage and produces a regulated output voltage. A first feedback network compares a feedback signal to a reference signal to assert/de-assert a first pulsed control signal when the reference signal is higher/lower than the feedback signal. A second feedback network compares the output voltage to a threshold signal to assert/de-assert a second control signal when the threshold signal is higher/lower than the output voltage. A charge pump is enabled if the second control signal is de-asserted and is clocked by the first pulsed control signal to produce a supply voltage higher than the input voltage. A first pass element is enabled when the second control signal is asserted and is selectively activated when the first pulsed control signal is asserted. A second pass element is selectively activated when the second control signal is de-asserted.
