    摘要: A method for fabrication of a non-pneumatic tire and wheel assembly incorporates a tire tread and a conventional vehicle wheel with an elastomer tire body element formed by introducing elastomer into mold elements with a center plug and releasably carried chamber forms to provide integral wall elements extending radially inward from the tire body element for sealing engagement with the wheel. The tire body element includes multiple concentric layers with alternating spokes formed with strut and aperture dimensions in the mold elements and mating rubber cast blocks adapted for the desired spoke design. After curing, the tire assembly is mounted on the conventional wheel with conventional mounting tools to deform the integral side walls and a pneumatic chamber formed by the side walls is inflated.

    摘要: A method for manufacturing the pneumatic tire according to the present technology includes the steps of: molding a green tire that includes an inner liner member; attaching a film to a region on the inner surface of the green tire corresponding to a tread portion, by adhesive force of the inner liner member; coating the inner surface of the green tire that includes the film with a mold release agent; vulcanizing the green tire coated with the mold release agent; removing the film from the inner surface of a pneumatic tire obtained through the vulcanization; and bonding a belt-shaped sound-absorbing member, via an adhesive layer along the tire circumferential direction, to an exposed region from which the film has been peeled off.

    摘要: A method for testing a tire's resistance to pressure loss following a puncture includes inserting a plurality of puncturing objects through a wall of the tire, running the tire with the puncturing objects therein over a given distance with a regulated inflation pressure, stopping the running of the tire, and determining a pressure loss resistance index for each puncture based on an estimate of a leak rate of the puncture. In a first phase of the method, the puncturing objects are made up of pointed smooth-walled objects, such as nails, and the running is performed in such a way that the puncturing objects are not ejected during running. In a second phase of the method, the puncturing objects are made up of objects that are pointed but have walls bearing a screw thread, such as screws, and the running is performed at speeds of below 80 km/h.

    摘要: A tire assembly and method includes one or more elongate air passageway formed within a tire component, such as a tire sidewall. The air passageway is configured as a series or string of elongate cavities, adjacent cavities connected end to end by an elongate connecting channel. The connecting channel is dimensioned having a channel diametric size smaller than a cavity diametric size. Positioned within the tire component, the air passageway sequentially collapses segment by segment as each of the cavities pass sequentially over a rolling tire footprint. Air is pumped by the sequential air passageway collapse with the smaller dimensioned connecting channel(s) acting as valve components to directionally keep the pumped air moving between an air passageway air inlet and an air passageway air outlet and from there into the tire cavity.

    摘要: A pneumatic tire is provided which includes an outer circumferential rubber tread and a supporting carcass. A rubber inner liner is disposed inwardly from the supporting carcass. A built-in sealant layer is situated adjacent to an innermost removable barrier layer and disposed inwardly from the rubber inner liner. The built-in sealant layer provides self-sealing properties to the pneumatic tire. The pneumatic tire, with its innermost removable barrier layer, keeps the sealant layer from sticking to a tire-building apparatus during tire assembly and, after curing of the assembled tire, is eventually removed to permit gas from the built-in sealant layer to become part of the tire's inflation air to prevent or reduce instances of inner liner blister formation.
