Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for adaptive and dynamic beamforming in a radio access network (“RAN”) of a wireless network, based on information received from User Equipment (“UEs”) connected to the RAN, and/or information that can be attributed to UEs and/or users associated with UEs connected to the RAN. For example, a Beam Load Balancing System (“BLBS”) of some embodiments may use such information to identify beams, of one or more base stations, for which a configuration should be modified in order to provide RF connectivity to one or more UEs in a manner that optimizes Quality of Service (“QoS”) provided to the UEs and/or efficiently utilizes network resources.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the network-implemented detection of locations that exhibit excessive density of individuals, and/or for the detection of individuals who do not maintain a minimum level of distance between each other. Location information of one or more User Equipment (“UEs”) may be monitored and compared to policy information to determine that the locations exhibit at least a threshold level of population density. Further, remedial measures may be taken when such situations are detected, such as alerting devices that are located within, or are heading towards, such locations.

Abstract: Systems and methods for radio beam management for a wireless network are described. An illustrative system includes a memory configured to store instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to determine that a user equipment (UE) device is located at a geographic location, determine a prioritization of beams associated with the geographic location, and direct the UE device to apply the prioritization of beams associated with the geographic location for beam scanning at the geographic location. The prioritization of beams may be generated based on historical beam signal strengths at the geographic location. In certain examples, an analytics engine applies a machine learning algorithm to generate the prioritization of beams based on inputs that include historical beam signal strengths reported by UE devices at the geographic location.

The device may communicate with a distributed unit or a centralized unit of the network to cause the alteration to the HARQ configuration.

Abstract: Mitigating interference between transmitters and receivers associated with satellite systems and mobile wireless systems may include receiving information associated with the transmitter, determining a distance between the transmitter and the receiver based on the received information, determining if the distance is less than a distance threshold, estimating an interference level based on determining that the distance is less than the distance threshold, determining if the estimated interference level exceeds an interference threshold, computing an angle between an antenna of the transmitter and the receiver based upon determining that the estimated interference exceeds the interference threshold, and directing, when receiving a signal, a main lobe of a receive antenna pattern of the receiver towards the signal, and forming nulls in the receive antenna pattern in a direction of at least one side lobe of a transmit pattern of the transmitter.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the discovery and connection of Mesh Distributed Units (“MDUs”), which may establish a mesh topology and perform wireless backhaul of data between a core network and a User Equipment (“UE”). Multiple MDUs in an MDU network may be connected to establish an MDU route. One or more connected MDUs may broadcast an indication that the MDU is available to connect, one or more performance metrics, or an MDU performance score based on performance metrics. This broadcast may iteratively repeat in order to refine the mesh network topology in an ongoing process.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a frequency and network slice selection service is provided. The service may configure network slices at a cell level which may include carrier frequencies or bands that may be ranked in terms of preference for a network slice. The service may provide frequency/band-network slice information to end devices via system information block and radio resource control messages. End devices may perform a cell search procedure and use other criteria to select and establish a network slice connection via a frequency/band of a network slice and in accordance with the service.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a mapping table is transmitted to a user device. The mapping table includes, for each entry, an index, a frequency band, and wireless services available on the frequency band. Index information corresponding to a frequency band and wireless service available in a location associated with the user device is communicated to the user device. An icon associated with the wireless service is displayed on a display of the user device. A network device determines that the user device is using the wireless service to communicate via a wireless network and transmits, to a core network, an indication that the user device is using the wireless service on the frequency band.
