Abstract:
Aspects presented herein enable updating the codebook configuration upon the changing of the cover or case of the UE. The apparatus applies a first codebook from a plurality of preconfigured codebooks. The apparatus detects a change of a cover state of the UE, wherein the change alters a transmission beam pattern at the UE. The apparatus applies a second codebook from the plurality of preconfigured codebooks based on the change of the cover state.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for avoiding conflicts between evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services (eMBMS) operations and paging and/or mobile originated (MO) operations in communication systems. A method for wireless communications by a user Equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes identifying at least one evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS) session available for receiving one or more eMBMS services from a base station. The method also includes taking one or more actions to reduce a conflict between receiving the one or more eMBMS services from the base station and receiving a paging message from the base station during the eMBMS session. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine a predicted tune-away for a set of voice frames. In some aspects, the user equipment may alter a vocoder rate from a first vocoder rate to a second vocoder rate that is less than the first vocoder rate based at least in part on determining the predicted tune-away for the set of voice frames. In some aspects, the user equipment may drop, in connection with an occurrence of the predicted tune-away, a subset of packets for a time period corresponding to the predicted tune-away. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may camp on a cell of a first radio access technology (RAT). The UE may perform a cell search for a second RAT while camped on the cell of the first RAT, wherein the second RAT operates in a non-standalone mode with the first RAT. The UE may present, for display, an indication of whether the second RAT is available in the cell based at least in part on performing the cell search for the second RAT. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
A method for single cell point-to-multicast service continuity on a multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) mobile communication device includes: receiving single cell point-to-multicast (SC-PTM) data from a first cell on a first subscription; activating a second subscription; receiving the SC-PTM data from the first cell on the second subscription; performing a handover or reselection from the first cell to a second cell on the first subscription; receiving the SC-PTM data from the second cell on the first subscription; and deactivating the second subscription.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for offline and/or online mode decoding of multicast channel scheduling information (MSI). A method for wireless communications by a user Equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes receiving a Multicast Control Channel (MCCH) relating to at least one Physical Multicast Channel (PMCH), determining, for the PMCH, whether to decode MSI using an online mode or to decode the MSI using an offline mode, wherein the determination is based on one or more criteria, decoding the MSI in accordance with the determination. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications. In some aspects, a mobile device may receive configuration information, associated with configuring a state of the mobile device, via a unicast transmission, and may access a header-compressed broadcast transmission using the configuration information received via the unicast transmission. In some aspects, a network entity may transmit configuration information, to facilitate decompression of a header-compressed broadcast transmission, via a unicast transmission to a mobile device of a plurality of mobile devices, and may transmit the header-compressed broadcast transmission to the plurality of mobile devices in accordance with the configuration information.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus determines a timing of each of one or more audio transmissions of one or more audio segments through Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) streaming via a first radio access technology (RAT), where the MBMS streaming includes the one or more audio segments and one or more video segments. The apparatus refrains from tuning away from the first RAT to a second RAT during at least one audio transmission of the one or more audio transmissions, the second RAT being different than the first RAT.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a network device. The apparatus receives an evolved multimedia broadcast multicast service (eMBMS) data from a base station via multicast transmission. The apparatus transmits the received eMBMS data to one or more end nodes via unicast transmission. In an aspect, the one or more end nodes are connected to the network device via a local area network (LAN).
Abstract:
Embodiments methods implemented with a server or a processor of a mobile communication device (e.g., a multi-standby communication device) reduce the redundancy information needed to achieve adequate reception service on a first radio access technology (RAT) sharing an RF resource with a second RAT. The device processor may implement at least one tune-away management strategy that mitigates the amount of data for the first RAT that is lost during the tune-away event. Thus, by implementing the one or more tune-away management strategies, the device processor may ensure that less redundancy information overhead is needed to correct or replace lost or partially received data, improving latency, channel usage, and the first RAT's overall reception performance. In some embodiments, a server may implement one or more strategies for including redundancy information into data that is sent to a first RAT to mitigate the negative effects of tune aways on the first RAT.
