Abstract:
The teachings of the present disclosure relate to a method for receiving “N” data streams (wherein “N” is a number greater than one) from “N” endpoints. Each of the data streams are received from a different respective endpoint. The method also includes decoding the “N” data streams by generating a decoding signal input comprising the “N” data streams and then iteratively repeating the following steps “N”−1 times: determine a most reliable stream; decode the most reliable stream using linear multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) decoding; output the decoded most reliable stream; estimate a signal estimate based on the most reliable stream and modulation information associated with the most reliable stream; and generate a residual signal that comprises the remaining data streams less the signal estimate. Upon the residual signal comprising two data streams, the method includes updating the decoding signal input to be the residual signal. Upon the residual signal comprising a single received stream, the method includes decoding the residual signal using a maximum likelihood decoder.
Abstract:
An injectable and moldable putty comprising biodegradable calcium-based compounds including calcium sulfate, hydroxyapatite, and tricalcium phosphate is invented. The putty hardens into a solid body when mixed with water, saline, serum, or other neutral aqueous solutions. The hardening time of the putty can be tailored in order to meet the specific requirements of various dental or orthopedic applications. The pH of the putty is neutral during and after mixing. The invented putty may be used as bone graft, bone implant, or implantable drug delivery device.
Abstract:
A support device for heat dissipation module provides a frame with four corners thereof extending outward a support part respectively. A mounting opening is disposed at the central area of the frame with two opposite side of the mounting opening having a projection plate respectively. A facial side of the projection plate is provided with fitting pins to fit with a guide heat plate and covering the mounting opening without help of welding. Therefore, thinner guide heat plate can be used for simplifying manufacturing process and lowering production cost.
Abstract:
A fan with supercharging device has a hub and fan blades. A hub has a shape similar to a cone with a tip end and a circumferential side. The fan blades extend radially from the circumferential side of the hub. Each of the fan blades has a joining end being attached to the circumferential side, a free end extending outward the hub and a front edge and a rear edge being between the joining end and the free end respectively. The rear edge of the respective fan blade is shielded by the front edge of another fan blade next to it. The unshielded portion of the respective fan blade has an area gradually increases from the joining end to the free end. A projection is disposed at the free end along a direction of fluid flow. Hence, fluid pressure is capable of increasing significantly while the fan is in operation.
Abstract:
An automatic bulk filling process for filling a large number of liquid containers (20) simultaneously which consists of placing the open-topped liquid containers upside down in a rack (22). The rack is then inserted into a vacuum chamber (28) and positioned directly above a tray (38) that contains a liquid medicinal product (40). The next step is to evacuate the chamber to a predetermined level below atmospheric pressure and then lowering the rack until the containers are partially immersed in the liquid product. Following that step, nitrogen is introduced into the vacuum chamber at a predetermined gradual rate, thereby quickly forcing the medicinal liquid product into the containers. The rack is then raised from the tray containing the liquid medicinal product and removed from the chamber as another rack full of containers is simultaneously inserted into the chamber from the other end.
Abstract:
An architecture for allowing extensibility to policies. The architecture has a policy component program that is able to evaluate and enforce polices. The architecture also has plugin modules for allowing a user to customize the polices. The policy component program is able to present interfaces to the user for customizing the polices. The policy component program is further able to integrate customized polices into a framework of the policy component program in response to user input that is based on the interfaces presented to the user. The presented interfaces may be for defining subjects in the policy program, defining conditions in the policy program, defining referrals in the policy program, defining resource names in the policy program, and defining how conflicts will be resolved in the policy program. The interfaces may be compliant with the JAVA programming language.
Abstract:
An image sticking prevention circuit for a display. The image sticking prevention circuit comprises a diode, a first capacitor, a transistor, and a second capacitor. The diode has a first terminal and a second terminal. The first terminal of the diode is coupled to a first voltage terminal of a voltage converter. The first capacitor has a first terminal coupled to the second terminal of the diode and a second terminal coupled to a first fixed potential. The transistor has a first terminal coupled to the first terminal of the first capacitor, a second terminal coupled to the first terminal of the diode and the first voltage terminal of the voltage converter, and a third terminal coupled to a second voltage terminal of the voltage converter and a gate driver circuit. The second capacitor has a first terminal coupled to the third terminal of the transistor and a second terminal coupled to a second fixed potential.
Abstract:
A hydroxyapatite based bioresorbable material is incorporated with anti-cancer agents to form an implant used for treatment against cancer. Sustained release of the anti-cancer agents may be achieved after implantation at the targeted sites. The dosage of the anti-cancer agent, the microstructure, morphology, and composition of the bioresorbable material allow control of the release profile. The invented implant may be used for drug delivery, chemotherapy, or gene therapy.
Abstract:
The client portion of a distributed client-server network management system uses an interface designed with, and written in, a platform independent language, such as Java. This allows management application programs to be written in the platform independent language and insures their portability. The inventive interface caches most of the management information at the server so that only a small client program is necessary. This program can run on a system with minimal resources, thereby allowing a network manager to manage a network from virtually any location on the network. For example, the client management application could be written as a Java applet which could then be run on any Java-enabled browser. The inventive distributed management system can also connect with, and use, the services and structure of existing distributed network management systems.
Abstract:
Methods are provided for treating liquid hazardous waste containing anionic radioactive or heavy metal materials by binding the hazardous waste to hydroxyapatite powder, drying and then cold or hot pressing the hydroxyapatite powder into a solid mass for storage or disposal. The methods are useful for treatment and storage of radioactive waste, anions, and heavy metals. Methods are also provided for treating high concentration liquid hazardous waste and liquid hazardous waste which does not contain materials known to decompose at high temperatures.
