Abstract: Disclosed is an avalanche photodiode using a silicon nanowire, including a first silicon nanowire formed of silicon (Si), a first conductive region formed by doping one surface of the first silicon nanowire with a first dopant, and a second conductive region formed by doping one surface of the first silicon nanowire with a second dopant having a conductive type different from that of the first dopant so as to be arranged continuously in a longitudinal direction from the first conductive region, wherein, when the magnitude of a reverse voltage applied to both ends of the first silicon nanowire is equal to or greater than a preset breakdown voltage, avalanche multiplication of inner current occurs due to the incidence of light from the outside.

Abstract: A radar and communication (RadCom) system and a method for vehicles using a fast chirp signal are provided. A radar system includes a phase locked loop (PLL) configured to generate a radar signal, a signal generator configured to generate a communication signal and a mixer configured to mix the radar signal and the communication signal. The system also includes a transmitter configured to transmit an output signal from the mixer, a first switch configured to switch not to transmit the communication signal to the mixer in a radar mode, and a second switch configured to switch to connect a first filter to the PLL when the radar mode ends. Accordingly, RadCom transmission and reception using the fast chirp signal is possible.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for estimating a temperature of a motor using a Hall sensor. The method includes detecting, at a digital Hall sensor, a position of a rotor included in a motor and outputting an on signal in an operating period and an off signal in a release period according to a relative position of the rotor, calculating, at a temperature determining module, a difference between duration of the operating period and duration of the release period according to an output waveform of the digital Hall sensor, and then determining, at the temperature determining module, a temperature of the motor with reference to a temperature corresponding to the duration difference. Accordingly, it is possible to estimate the internal temperature of a motor without installing a temperature sensor in the motor, to maintain a small size of the motor, and to reduce production costs.

The sensor further includes metal lines disposed on the light receiving element array in parallel, provided to correspond to the number of the light receiving elements, and configured to connect the light receiving elements to the readout circuits in one-to-one correspondence.
