Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for communicating data in a wireless communications network are described herein. In some aspects, a station includes a first receiver and a low power circuit including a second receiver. The second receiver may be configured to consume less power than the first receiver. The second receiver receives short paging messages from another wireless device, such as an access point. The paging messages may trigger transitions of the first receiver from inactive doze or sleep states to active awake states based on Traffic Information Maps. Once in the awake state, the first receiver receives messages. This enables the first receiver to reduce the time spent awake, thereby reducing power consumption. A system and method for identifying and managing paging modes is described herein.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to using bloom filter hash functions for service hint information in advertisements such as beacons and probe responses. Certain aspects provide an apparatus for wireless communications, such as an access point (AP). The apparatus generally includes a processing system configured to generate a plurality of bitmaps that indicate one or more services known by the apparatus, each bitmap being generated by applying a different set of one or more cyclic redundancy check (CRC) based hash functions to one or more service identifications (IDs) of each service, and to generate one or more frames, each frame including one of the plurality of bitmaps and an indication of the set of one or more CRC based hash functions used to generate the bitmap included in the frame, and an interface configured to output the one or more frames for transmission.

The method further includes, during a second transmission window of the data link group and prior to a data window of the second transmission window, sending data traffic to a particular device of the one or more devices without sending a traffic announcement to the particular device during a second paging window of the second transmission window.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable media configured to adaptively enable a request to send/clear to send protocol is disclosed herein. An embodiment may comprise identifying one or more rules including on one or more of a plurality of communication link characteristics of a plurality of communication links between an access point and one or more devices of a plurality of devices. An embodiment may further comprise selectively enabling the request to send/clear to send protocol between the access point and the one or more devices of the plurality of wireless devices based on whether each link characteristic of the one or more rules has satisfied a link characteristics threshold in each rule. In certain embodiments, a station or an access point may identify a rule and transmit the rule to other devices, stipulating one or more conditions which request to send/clear to send is to be used.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for integrating Bluetooth devices into neighbor aware networks are described. In one aspect, a method for wireless communication using a first wireless protocol and a second wireless protocol includes determining, by a first wireless device, a set of parameters comprising at least one of an identifier associated with a cluster of wireless devices configured to communicate according to the second wireless protocol, an indication of a discovery window transmission time associated with the cluster, and a reliability metric associated with the cluster. The method also includes inserting the set of parameters into a frame associated with the first wireless protocol, and transmitting by the first wireless device, the frame associated with the first wireless protocol over a communication channel associated with the first wireless protocol to a second wireless device configured to communicate according to the first wireless protocol.

Abstract: Systems and methods for establishing synchronized operations on a data delivery network are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes receiving synchronization information for a neighbor aware network and for a second channel associated with a data delivery network (including a paging window for one of the networks), and receiving service data on the data delivery channels while maintaining synchronization on all data delivery channels using only the synchronization information from the neighbor aware network channel. The synchronization allows devices to increase efficiency by allowing them to sleep, wake-up, send or store data traffic, and receive or transmit indicators of stored data traffic, among other actions, in a coordinated manner such that the devices are awake at the same specified times (e.g., paging windows). Devices may then stay awake to receive or transmit traffic or sleep to conserve power if there is no traffic to send or receive.

In one aspect, a method includes receiving a message from a neighbor aware network, and decoding the message to determine a communication channel used to provide a service, and an indicator of a paging window for the communication channel. In some aspects, the indicator of the paging window is based on synchronization information for a second communication channel.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for operating in a television white space (TVWS) network. One example method generally includes receiving, at an apparatus, a message with a field indicating a current version of an unused frequency spectrum map (e.g., a white space map (WSM)), the unused frequency spectrum map indicating channels usable for wireless communications; determining whether the current version of the unused frequency spectrum map is different than a previous version of the unused frequency spectrum map; and using a channel for wireless communications based on the determination. Another example method generally includes accessing a database of available channels for a current location of an apparatus via a neighboring portable or fixed enabling apparatus and enabling one or more portable dependent apparatuses for the wireless communications via one or more of the available channels.
