    Abstract: A ring node N belonging to a resilient MPLS ring (RMR) provisions and/or configures clockwise (CW) and anti-clockwise (AC) paths on the RMR by: (a) configuring two ring node segment identifiers (Ring-SIDs) on the ring node, wherein a first of the two Ring-SIDs (CW-Ring-SID) is to reach N in a clockwise direction on the ring and a second of the two Ring-SIDs (AC-Ring-SID) is to reach N in an anti-clockwise direction on the ring, and wherein the CW-Ring-SID and AC-Ring-SID are unique within a source packet routing in networking (SPRING) domain including the ring; (b) generating a message including the ring node's CW-Ring-SID and AC-Ring-SID; and (c) advertising the message, via an interior gateway protocol, for receipt by other ring nodes belonging to the ring such that (1) a clockwise multipoint-to-point path (CWP) is defined such that every other one of the ring nodes belonging to the ring can be an ingress for the CWP and such that only the node is an egress for the CWP, and (2) an anti-clockwise multipoint-to-point path (ACP) is defined such that every other one of the ring nodes belonging to the ring can be an ingress for the ACP and such that only the node is an egress for the ACP.

    Abstract: A communication method is implemented by a route reflector belonging to a computer system including at least one server in which a virtual proxy and a host are connected. The method includes, for each host, storing an identifier of a private network of the source and destination hosts, receiving, from the proxy connected to that host, a notification including a hardware address and a hop IP address of the host, and verifying a match between the hop IP address and one or more other IP addresses. If the match verification is negative, the method includes storing the hop IP address. The method also includes receiving from the host, an announcement message comprising the routes accessible via the hop IP address, and storing the announced routes.

    Abstract: A first network device includes a processor and a memory having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the first network device to: obtain a first virtual private network (VPN) route sent by a second network device. The first VPN route includes first identification information that uniquely identifies a first VPN instance in the second network device. The first network device is also caused to generate a second VPN route according to a second VPN instance accessing a third network device and the first VPN route. The second VPN route carries second identification information and routing information of the first VPN route. The second identification information uniquely identifies the second VPN instance in the third network device. The first identification information is different from the second identification information. The first network device is further caused to send the second VPN route to the third network device.

    Abstract: Techniques for utilizing entropy labels of a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) label stack for performing monitoring operations (e.g., telemetry, performance measurement, OAM, etc.) without altering the MPLS label stack and/or packet path (e.g., ECMP path). The techniques may include determining, by a node of a network, to perform a monitoring operation associated with traffic that is to be sent along a path through the network. In some examples, the node may receive a packet that is to be sent along the path and encapsulate the packet with an MPLS header. The MPLS header may include an entropy label, entropy label indicator, or other label that is capable of carrying a flag indicating the monitoring operation to be performed. The flag may be carried in a TTL field or traffic class field of the label such that the MPLS label stack is not altered to trigger the monitoring operation.

    Abstract: Echo or traceroute functionality is supported in a path spanning multiple autonomous systems (ASes) having segment routing (SR) enabled, the path including an ingress node and an egress node, by: (a) obtaining a return label stack to reach the ingress node from either (A) the egress node, or (B) a transit node in the path; (b) obtaining a label stack to reach, from the ingress node, either (A) the egress node, or (B) the transit node; (c) generating a request message including the return label stack; and (d) sending the request message towards either (A) the egress node, or (B) the transit node using the label stack. The example method may further include: (e) receiving, by either (A) the egress node, or (B) the transit node, the request message, wherein the request message includes information for performing a validity check; (f) performing a validity check using the information included in the request message to generate validity information; (g) generating a reply message including the validity information and information from the return label stack; and (h) sending the reply message towards the ingress node using information from the return label stack included in the request message.

    Abstract: A cell site gateway located at a cell site of an access network receives one or more first packets, from a network gateway, via a first interface of the cell site gateway. The cell site gateway receives one or more second packets, from a cellular base station, via a second interface of the cell site gateway. The cell site gateway receives control information, from a control server, via a third interface of the cell site gateway, wherein the control information is for a forwarding layer of the cell site gateway, the control information comprising a first label for removal by the forwarding layer and a second label for attachment by the forwarding layer. The forwarding layer of the cell site gateway removes the first label from the one or more first packets. The forwarding layer of the cell site gateway attaches the second label to the one or more second packets. The forwarding layer of the cell site gateway transmits the one or more second packets to the network gateway.
